Chopper did something really weird unknowingly. You could kinda see the shadow devil kinda scared before that giant turned back to normal. Definitely something else going on with that technique that doesn't require the people that got turned to take a fatal hit.

Usopp has had his skull completely smashed in at least 3 times: once in Alabasta from Mr 4's bat, again by the Franky Fam in Water 7, and once more by Ulti's forehead in Onigashima. His brain case should be holding together a pool of intracranial hemorrhages strung to 3 functioning brain cells, but he drank his milk and he's fine.

So far, I think Pedro is the only confirmed explosion death in the entire series. "How did Pell survive?!" is literally its own meme.

This scene is setting Usopp up for his big moment in the next few chapters -- the feat that will see every denizen of Elbaph tout him as a noble warrior of the sea. It would make him the first of the crew to realize his dream, and it would be legendary for Oda to kill him doing it, so Usopp only gets to experience that fleeting glory in the throes of death, enraging Luffy beyond comprehension. But part of Usopp's durability is plot armor itself, so I think he sees Laugh Tale.

29 years later, we finally see the big bad of One Piece in the flesh.

Looks like he has some kind of health issue associated with leaving Mary Geoise?

There is a ton of symbolism with how Imu looks. He has the exact opposite color scheme as Gear 5 Luffy but with the same clouds and design. Also the same weird halo-esque thing behind him.

Also the drums SFX leading up to his appearance. But in a different (maybe the opposite?) rhythm. Drums of domination? Or something like that.
