Dominus also “emulates” the dual screen feature, and does it pretty well, allowing you to constantly have the map and other stats open.

…but man, having a physical screen was awesome af. Last year I found my DS, in mint condition, not used for some 15-20 years with Portrait of Ruin cartridge in it. Battery still monstrous and able to pull a good 15~ hours.

…a non-stop 3-4 hour gaming session followed.

GBA/DS Castlevania’s are that awesome.
