As someone with a nice gaming PC I can't see any reason to own xbox, since the gamepass works with PC too.
I haven't had this issue in awhile, but once upon a time some games were exclusive to PC or Xbox specifically. There's been a lot more parity over time, but there might still be an occasional release that you'll only find on one side of the service and not the other.
Plus the older Xbox games on the service of course.
