Story is kinda controversial and polarizing I think, gameplay wise it improves on almost everything from 1, if you liked 1 I think you will definitely like this too. For that price it's a steal for a great game (looks and runs so good on PS5 too).
I remember there was some transgender thing in the game. The fact they dared make a character transgender the reason it’s polarizing? Or was it also handled incredibly poorly?
There was other stuff about the story, especially a certain situation very early in the game, which also had people going crazy.
And the ending was pretty bad to IMO
I had issues with the story but not because of any transgender stuff, it was more the story structure and ending I didn’t agree with it.
Yeah, wasn't a fan of the ending too

It's Thursday, Turkey Day. Get your Epic game. Star Wars: Squadrons
Next week is Fort Triumph, and RPG in a Box.
Steam has Cyberpunk 50% off for $29.99... worth it?
Don't listen to him.
It's definitely worth it. Especially now that it's been patched so much.
You've played better games broski. It's just so mid all around, you won't be particularly blown away by it. I couldn't recommend it tbh, as much as I wish the game was better.

Of course I've played better games. Every game but one game has better games than it that I've played. Doesn't mean this isn't enjoyable.
I bought ps4 version for $5 at Best Buy some months ago that even came with a free metal case. Haven’t played it yet, but I’ve heard it’s gotten better with all the patches.
It was always fine on PC.
The drama when it was released was largely because of the disaster that was on the Xbox One/PS4 versions.
The hype expected something revolutionary. If it wasn't rushed for the next-gen releases, maybe it could have been.
But CDPR fucked up, and burned good will in the doing.
So, it's just a GTA-like with nice graphics. It's fine for what it is.
If you want to play it now, get it now.
If you don't have time now/other things to play, maybe wait and see if a package deal comes with the Phantom Liberty DLC.
I might actually give it another go now that I have a PS5. I honestly didn’t have many of the hilarious glitches on the ps4 but it did crash maybe once an hour consistently which was hella annoying.
i played through it for the first time about two months ago, it is a damn fine but deeply flawed game. it's still pretty buggy, anyone pretending it released fine on any console or has been patched to optimization is out of their mind, but the bugs are no longer gamebreaking they're just mostly funny / reloadable out of. you can clearly tell the kind of development hell the game went through, animations that don't exist, underdeveloped peripheral systems, montage sequences where there should be gameplay, etc, but the core systems are all p fun especially on the higher difficulties. spruced up Deus Ex.
what you come and stay for though is the story, the characters, and the writing. like The Witcher 3 the main plot while not always brilliant is serviceable and delivers in parts, but a lot of the side content is where their storytelling chops shine. Keanu goes all in on his first VA role, thought he'd be a gimmick but nope he's a lead role and a killer one, and several of the other characters are among the most memorable in open world RPGs. it's almost a great game, deeply flawed, but often enough the rays of a mastapiece that could have been shine through. it'll never be that, but still well worth the time imo.
Fresh free game, also GOG is doing flash deals, changes on time, or if keys run out.
