I don't think you'll get cheaper codes from anywhere "official". From what it's worth, I've been using sites like Kinguin, Eneba or G2Play for years and never had any problems.

Currently about to leave early access, the price will go up to $30, so getting it for $15 or less again might take a while.
It's a settlement builder, but with an overarching progression system. So it's a bit like an incremental, or They Are Billions, in that you're always starting over, but stronger.
