Doesn't look like Dyson Sphere Program has been mentioned yet. Early Access on Steam... it's in the same vein as Factorio or Satisfactory but across a whole star cluster with the goal of building the titular sphere. Very polished so far, I've put in about 70 hours in the past month.
Finally started God of War 2018 a month ago. Been playing it on and off. Gets repetitive pretty fast but man the story, voice acting, soundtrack and graphics are all a perfect 10 so far. Also picked up Grandia Collection and I'm playing the OG Grandia for the first time. I'm enjoying it and it really reminds me of Xenogears but with a more light-hearted story, so far. Beat Mario 3D collection and finally realized Sunshine is the worst of the three. Had never beaten Galaxy before, but it was definitely better, even with the goofy motion controls.
Started Valheim with a friend this morning and it was pretty fun. Many shenanigans will be had. Casually leveling my DRG to 80 in XIV.

3 bosses into nioh 2 and i'm really enjoying it, anybody else pick this up? it was not on my radar even a little bit, never played any team ninja games til this
i started it a couple weeks ago and it is likewise my first foray into Nioh though i played Ninja Gaiden Black.
it is indeed dope af, Soulslike but with better combat than the Souls tbh. story is kind of a mess and if it's really 100 hours long could see it getting repetitive but so far it's the bee's knees.
also the second enemy killed me 25 times
Story in 2 is pretty bad.
1 was not great but substantially better both thru a better tie in to actual historical events and the protagonist not being a nameless avatar.
But... Dark Souls-esque combat plus an ARPG loot system is just mad fun, story be damned
yeah the story is complete gibberish, i got ghosts of tsushima or god of war if i need competent story telling, this is just a great combat system with...so much goddamn loot and customization its kind of intimidating
Am I going to hate it, I'm just always coming to you for this. I see the word souls mentioned and I cringe. I don't like games where I die by getting one shot by random trash mobs and then they all respawn after I've cleared an area.
I just want more games to not play.
I need more quick in and out games like in the old days. I miss jumping into soldier of Fortune or modern warfare or halo or unreal tournament and playing for 5 to 10 minutes if that's all I have and then getting out. I hate these 30 minute long games like dota and Battle royales or 12 rounds matches.
I only played the 1st one, but Nioh is a lot more arcade-y, easier than most Souls games and missions were quite fast, I'd guess most of the time I spent respawning after being killed by the boss and learning how to defeat it and not by the mobs in the area itself. Although I did not play it that much too, so it was mostly beginner experience.
oh yeah brother you're made of absolute fucking tissue paper, the one-shotting is even worse than in any of the Souls. and most enemies will indeed respawn and you gotta clear again. it is not an in & outter there's generally little if any progress you'll make in 10 minutes.
it's A LOT. i still haven't touched crafting much and i'm nearing level 100. Guardian Spirits + Soul Cores are p important so learn that business and get on the onmyo + ninjitsu trains asap if you haven't yet.
Later into the game you can actually make moderately functional tank builds, but basically thru the entire first play through you have the functional hp of a wet tissue.
The big thing that trips a lot of people up compared to Dark Souls is trying to dodge when you should be blocking or parrying, and not doing ki pulses and stance switches to keep stamina high.
Also worth noting you should realistically not give a single shit about gear thru the 1st play through if you plan to put a lot of time into the game. Just use whatever has the best stats or level as it comes. On new game+ an entire new rarity tier of gear is unlocked at which point you can start focusing on specific builds and weapons
Any of y'all on that Loop Hero? I don't think it needs its own thread but it's the not idle idle game I've always wanted
At least until I get bored lol

I'm pretty close to Platinum on Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition. I'm on my second playthrough now and I should be able to get everything except the speedrun trophy this go-through, which would (obviously) be done quickly on a third.
Kind of feeling Tales games at the moment, what should I play next? I have Symphonia nearly beaten but I put it down months ago. I also have Graces f, Xillia, Legendia, and Tales of the World hanging around here, plus the two original Playstation ones.
I enjoyed Graces f quite a bit, although I know the game gets a lot of flak, Xillia is pretty strong too, Legendia is usually considered one of the weakest.
Been sucked into Valheim, VERY fun viking minecrafty survival
Vesperia is great, Tales of the Abyss is more or less the precursor to it in terms of combat and has a good story to boot. Berseria is probably my favorite now, beating out my previous favorite which was Vesperia. Berseria has a lot of really weird min maxing you can get into which seems daunting but is mostly ignorable if you're playing on normal.
I remember playing the one for the DS a long time ago and liking it, but I don't remember ANYTHING about it. Not even the title
Speak of the devil. I just dusted off the old PS3 this weekend and started playing through Graces again.
Yeah, story is on the weaker/cheesier end, but characters are top notch like always, and IMO the CC system is awesome. Dunno if I'd call it better than the regular TP ("MP") systems, but it really is a nice breath of fresh air, a good change of pace, and it's addicting as hell. I am constantly chasing monsters to fight because it's so fun. Title system is also badass.
Time to finally get my plat!
Can confirm, is fun. Kinda sucks solo tho, especially the resource grind. Feels very difficult to mine everything you need solo, and I would rather split up the tasks and pool resources with how long it actually takes to gather mats. Minecraft feels like less of a drag in that regards
