Mara in SMT3 was a sight to behold, they've definitely been sneaking in the dick for years.

So I got to the point where the story caught up with the beginning. I noticed one of the key things they point to during that whole sequence:

    Spoiler: show
    pancakes

and knew there was something more going on with him when it first happened. I also had a strong feeling that part of that sequence

    Spoiler: show
was taking place in a palace due to the nature of you being captured and interrogated

And of course we knew basically the whole time about the fact that the reason you were a criminal was linked to the guy.

Need some more out of the story now. Clever getting the background of how it came together, but not that shocking.

I haven't played it, but I've heard very good things about the second one. Movement was very fluid, good gameplay, etc.

Yeah the first one is good but the second is next level. One of the movement mechanics you get in it is an absolute blast. Both are definitely worth experiencing.

going through the Uncharted series for the first time, p good p good. first entry really showed its age but 2 is slapping so far.

also messing around with Age of Empires IV. runs kinda not great but def better than 3 and a worthy successor to 2. hope they expand the civ count soon tho eight is a pretty small pool. tho in fairness the civs are more diverse and unique than in previous entries (not count Mythology times).

Age of Empires 2 with the Conquerors expansion was the only thing I played for a very long time.

Aztec Jaguar warriors were badass and the Mayan archers wrecked house.

Age of Empires 2 has a very fluid and addictive gameplay, never gets old really.

I took a break w/ Dragon Quest 11 at 68 hours into the game (monsters are super strong draconian quest slows it a bit) and got back to FFXII The Zodiac Age. Man the game aged like a damn fine wine. With high resolution and better textures Ivalice looks simply stunning. The city/world design in this game was way ahead of its time. The already great battle is awesome now with the addition of jobs.

It looks and feels like a modern Switch game.

I think I am going to buy FFX remastered as well. Fingers also crossed for a similar high quality FFXIII port on Switch.

I can't recommend Inscryption enough. I can't talk much about it without spoilering it, but it's a card game that is unlike anything you've ever played before. It's cheap on steam and it's definitely on the list for game of the year.

I was going through my old videogames in the attic (they were collecting dust...literally) and realized there are many AAA ps3 games that I own but never had a chance to play properly...Like GTA IV, Uncharted 3, Final Fantasy XIII (stopped at Gran Pulse iirc), Gran Turismo 5, FFXIII-2...heck I even found my original NFS Most Wanted copy (the 2005 one, for PC).

So I asked for my sisters slim ps3, set it up in the living room (ps4 is in the home office) and started with GTA IV. Looks like Uncharted 3 and FFXIII will follow. I am also quite surprised and happy to see that PSN PS3 store is still up and running...clumsy, dated but still there. Can't use credit cards for purchases though, you have to add funds to your wallet through web, ps4 or ps5.

GTA IV and many other early gen games look a bit dated and jaggy but late gens look remarkably better.

Apparently I've had a small treasure of VGs waiting to be discovered all these years!

Over my Thanksgiving break I bought Guardians of the Galaxy, Dragon Quest XI S, Astria Ascending, Last of Us Remastered, Shadow of the Colossus Remastered, Resident Evil 2 Remastered, Xenoblade Chronicles, Fire Emblem Three Houses, Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition, Bravely Default II, Ni no Kuni II, and Prince of Persia Two Thrones. Just before leaving I had bought SMT V, Caligula Effect 2, and Blue Reflection Second Light.

Got back into Monster Hunter Rise though my enjoyment is kind of dwindling again. Debating on Bravely Default 2 or Xenoblade tonight.

Microsoft Game pass has been a similar treasure trove for me. Now that I replaced my ancient computer, I've gone back and actually managed to finish FF8 for the first time ever, cleared Resident Evil 7, and River City Ransom Girls, and picked up Persona 4 Golden on Steam.

Just don't be surprised if the store crashes on you on the regular. That HTML5 storefront has been abysmal since the day it was introduced. An absolute shame they never added a "Library" feature to PS3/Vita (like PS4/PS5) for quicker access to games/DLC you own. It's still the one gigantic chronologically-sorted download history of 'everything'.

I have a similar issue as you where I just have this unplayed physical backlog of games I've owned from years ago, mostly thanks to bargain bins in my case. Good lord I got a lot of gems for $10-15 from bargain bins. Never got quite the same bang-for-my-buck from PS4 in that regards, mostly because Steam is the reigning king at that with how near everything is multi-plat these days.

So, I recently finished Scarlet Nexus and didn't want to start anything 'serious' just before Endwalker and on a whim installed Evil Genius 2 - man how quick hours fly by when playing this, it's been ages since I played a building sim game, so I forgot how addicting they can be. Sure, there's a lot of stuff that's mildly annoying about the gameplay, but this turned out to be a perfect time killer before the expansion.
