Just don't be surprised if the store crashes on you on the regular. That HTML5 storefront has been abysmal since the day it was introduced. An absolute shame they never added a "Library" feature to PS3/Vita (like PS4/PS5) for quicker access to games/DLC you own. It's still the one gigantic chronologically-sorted download history of 'everything'.


I have a similar issue as you where I just have this unplayed physical backlog of games I've owned from years ago, mostly thanks to bargain bins in my case. Good lord I got a lot of gems for $10-15 from bargain bins. Never got quite the same bang-for-my-buck from PS4 in that regards, mostly because Steam is the reigning king at that with how near everything is multi-plat these days.

We are in the golden age of videogaming. Every console generation has a very good amount of AAA titles and certain games in earlier generations have aged just fine, still very playable and still damn good. I believe every console in these days should have a strong backwards compatibility.

When they don't, we are basically stuck with dated infrastructure like this.

At least ps3 supports ps4 and ps5 controllers.

Microsoft Game pass has been a similar treasure trove for me. Now that I replaced my ancient computer, I've gone back and actually managed to finish FF8 for the first time ever, cleared Resident Evil 7, and River City Ransom Girls, and picked up Persona 4 Golden on Steam.

I held myself from playing Resident Evil 7 until this year (for VR). Eventually said what the heck and played it the old fashioned way. It was a real gem. Probably the scariest entry in the series.

I can't recommend Inscryption enough. I can't talk much about it without spoilering it, but it's a card game that is unlike anything you've ever played before. It's cheap on steam and it's definitely on the list for game of the year.

Started Final Fantasy XIII as a part of my ps3 revisited project

Man..the game is linear yeah but with the abundance of sandbox/large games nowadays I am even enjoying the change of pace here. Battle system is just awesome, auto-battle does a great job a la auto-pilot, taking the mundane and repetitive tasks off your shoulders and allow you to focus on the critical aspects of the battle.

Music, artistic design, story..this is just an awesome game. Can’t believe they criticized it for being longer than it should back in the day when I just can’t have enough of it.

My biggest issue with 13, and ironically my biggest complaint with the persona series is that if the party leader dies, it's game over, but anyone else and you can res them. It's like the rest of the party doesn't know how to res someone unless you tell them to. Thankfully they fixed that in 13-2, which is my favorite in the trilogy.

You can already mod the steam version with higher quality textures and models which will likely look better than whatever lazy ass remaster SE may do down the line.

My problem with the game was that it took so long to get to the "open world" portion of the game that I had lost interest when I got to it.

I own the Xbox version and the textures are ass, especially in the open world portion. If ya gotta play it, I recommend just modding it on PC.

I just restarted playing through Ghost of Tsushima, never even completed rescuing the uncle. Still think it's a fun game, and I want the cosmetic items and legendary armors/skills, but I could definitely just push through the rest and if it's the forts and stuff at this point. I have near max Ghost, level 2/3 in the stances, full Samurai skills, etc. Etc. Not sure if it's a good or bad thing I could get to that point before the first major story arc is finished, but I guess it makes it so I can complete the story without much side tracking.

Grabbed this today and will just echo that again. There was a moment where I thought it was going to end, which would make it a very short game and then the game just blows your expectations out of the water. Now I gotta wonder what's coming later down the road, but it's too late to continue playing tonight, lol

Finished Scarlet Nexus. Solid game. Kinda regret not playing it on PC or PS5 because of framerate. If you have Gamepass, then I believe you can play it for free.

I’ve also been casually playing GoT. I’m in act 2 and already nearly maxed out all the skills. Currently wandering around the upper map doing quests etc. It’s a pretty game but a bit repetitive now. Will try to complete it over Christmas.

Got The Medium and Tales of Arise for PS5 for Christmas. Currently going through The Medium. The story so far is kind of.... abstract? But I'm liking it thus far. Reminds me of Stranger Things. Will work on Arise after.
