The lack of cutscenes kinda sucks, though it partially gets remedied as the game goes on. You can def tell it's a budget title. Music from SO3/4 are reused often. Stiff animations, faulty camera in battle AND out of battle. Combat wise it felt kinda mediocre. It doesn't help that they gave Fidel an OP move to start the game with, which is pretty much his best move. High damage, fast speed, low MP cost. You can only use this move and you'll clear the game.

Not a fan of Role system. It felt like a rose version of Titles from Tales of. If I dabbled more into it, maybe I'd think differently.

Side questing was meh. All fetch quests, nothing of value plotwise.

Story wise it's okay. Nothing special. Doesn't do much well, but doesn't do much poorly either. Characterwise, I think I only really cared about Miki and Emmerson. Everyone else was kinda poor.

I like that they kinda allude to the events that happen with Relia as the prototype for SO3
    Spoiler: show
Fayt, Maria and Sophia with them having special powers, due to symbology effecting the world and such or something like that.

    5/10? idk

    Code:
    • Star Ocean 5 - Integrity and Faithlessness:
            • Start: 1-22-2023
                • End: 2-10-2023 (21:01 - pre final boss. game doesn't save after credits)
Not sure which game I want to play next from these:

    Valkyrie Elysium
    Star Ocean 6
    Dark Souls 2
    Hades
    Breath of the Wild 1
    13 Sentinel Aegis Rim
    Scarlet Nexus
    Code Vein
    Dragon's Dogma
    Hades!

Haven’t played San Andreas before so I went ahead and bought the definitive edition on switch, 50% discount.

The game looks OK, plays well in terms of frame rate and stuff but the cars around you “reshuffle” when you play around with the camera lol. Ex. there is a sports car ahead of you, look out from your side window and it may turn into a truck. Funny if you are looking for a sports car all you have to do is to keep playing around with the camera until you get what you want.

Was it like this in the original as well? Or is it a definitive failure edition “feature”?

I don't remember that in the original.

The switch version was by far the worst of those ports. Rockstar half assed all the versions.

They are playable now, but at launch it was a complete disaster

The PS2 originals (and in turn PC ports) had a fair degree of Alzheimers with regards to nearby traffic, but I don't know if that was fucked with any on this version, or the version it was based on (which was a mobile port of the originals). Generally the PS2 tried to keep memory of what's directly ahead of where the camera's pointing, so if you whipped the camera around using the shoulder buttons, what's ahead of the vehicle will be respawned. I know a speedrunner abuses it in Vice City (PC original version) to keep the road ahead mostly clear.

Highly recommend Pizza Tower. Been addicted to it since I started. Fun, fast paced platforming with very crude, stylized art. Great music too.

Been a blast doing all the achievements/P ranks. About halfway through right now. Each level is between 6-7 minutes if you do a full P rank run. Probably 4-5 minutes without. Feels great to speed through the levels regardless.

Right now I'm playing Final Fantasy XI while I wait for Patch 6.4 of Final Fantasy XIV. I'm also planning to play some other games at some point along the way past that:

    • Atomic Heart
    • Starfield

Anyone ever get into Wildermyth? This game has eaten up like my whole last week and I still have one main scenario left to play.

Turned on my Ps3 to finally finish off the last dungeon of FFXIII and to my surprise, it had received yet another update (4.9). Apparently it is purely for system performance enhancements.

GJ Sony, all while Nintendo shuts down Wii U store.

Nintendo did similar with the 3DS, but people are assuming it was to try to brick CFW, cause how dare people find a way to play unsupported games.

If a console system update is for nothing other than generic "enhancements" or "system stability" that just translates to blocking CFW or some kind of exploit

Modders took a somewhat deeper look into the update, apparently it doesn’t brick but doesn’t add much either. Mostly focused on updating the system to play newest Blu-Rays.

Nevetheless, I’ve recently read an article that only about 15% of games released before 2010 are commercially available, somewhat glad to know that ps3 store is still up and running with games selling for real cheap.

Taking a break from Eikon May Cry to finally start Aegis Rim: 13 Sentinels.

Played World's End Club for about an hour last night. Wasn't what I was expecting, but I'll go back to it later.

As someone who's been using their PS3 a lot lately, and having to deal with the fucking hell that is the modern PS3 store (which in turn includes PS4's store, and I assume PS5's), the PS3 store (and Vita) are basically in a maintenance mode affair. No store updates, no sales, and browsing titles is a bitch. Still sucks that a lot of the earlier library never had a digital release though, and most publishers didn't bother with adding them digitally after the fact, typically due to how a lot of PS3 games had data arranged/duped on the disc, or partial installs, to minimize seek times on the slow BD-ROM drive, which would have required getting a programmer and QA crew to address and test.

Hell, the least Sony could have done was add a Library feature to PS3/Vita like they did PS4/PS5 so I could easily see at a glance, my digital library and associated DLC, vs. traversing a chronological list of 1400 items that only shows 4 items onscreen at a time. Took me forever to find the fullgame-unlock key for one game (that short era of demos that were the full game download but locked off access) I had an itching to play since it wasn't a searchable element.

God damn I cannot share my hatred of the modern Playstation storefront, let alone the modern webstore which is a pale imitator of the fantastic one it used to have.

I can't seem to get into any games lately. FF16 was finished 2 weeks ago and I haven't found anything since. With the anticipation of Baldur's Gate right around the corner, not much else seems appealing.

Playing with one of these during my downtime or when I'm sitting on the patio like an old man. Can emulate anything up to PS1. Playing Einhander on a not-gameboy is hella fun
