No store updates, no sales, and browsing titles is a bitch. Still sucks that a lot of the earlier library never had a digital release though, and most publishers didn't bother with adding them digitally after the fact, typically due to how a lot of PS3 games had data arranged/duped on the disc, or partial installs, to minimize seek times on the slow BD-ROM drive, which would have required getting a programmer and QA crew to address and test.

Hell, the least Sony could have done was add a Library feature to PS3/Vita like they did PS4/PS5 so I could easily see at a glance, my digital library and associated DLC, vs. traversing a chronological list of 1400 items that only shows 4 items onscreen at a time. Took me forever to find the fullgame-unlock key for one game (that short era of demos that were the full game download but locked off access) I had an itching to play since it wasn't a searchable element.

God damn I cannot share my hatred of the modern Playstation storefront, let alone the modern webstore which is a pale imitator of the fantastic one it used to have.
Oh yeah, both Ps3 and Ps4 stores are basically user-hostile. With such amount of money circulating I can’t believe how they can allow, especially for the modern consoles to continue this way.

smashing through BG1 and 2 for a full Bhaalspawn run before BG3 releases. forgot like 40% of the plot of 1 revolves around low quality iron ore did a fuckin mercantilist write this
Playing BG on IOS, hopefully I’ll be able to tame the completionist in me and focus on the lore otherwise no way I’ll be finishing them in time.

Been playing The Alliance Alive, I think I'm close to the end? Seems like a short game meant to be played through 2-3 times with NG+.

Ok finally get to beat FFXIII. Short, to the point ending was awesome. Linearity did not bother me too much as I value battle system, design and music a lot and the game got those super right. I also loved the way they actually let you continue with side missions and marks after you finish the game (seriously, this should be more common than it is) and encouraged to do so thanks to the crystalarium expansion.

It is tempting to continue with the hunts, I love superboss challenges but I guess I'll try XIII-2 out first.

70 hours very well spent. Fingers crossed for a similar experience on XV.

I'm in the minority here, but I really enjoyed XIII, XIII-2, and Lightning Returns. (XIII-2 was my favorite)

I Platinumed all 3 of them twice.

Respect for doing XIII twice, I didn't have enough sanity to even do it once, the stupid Adamantoise farming broke me

XIII-2 was my favorite too. Felt like it was underappreciated.

    Great soundtrack too.

Just started XIII-2 and so hyped thanks to you guys I've had the collectors edition lying around for nearly 10 years.

As long as it's got a good bit of exploration and more of the fluid battle system I think I'll enjoy it a lot too.

I too think 2 was the best in the trilogy, so enjoy!

XIII-2 was the highlight of the three here, but damn if I didn't like LR's combat. Probably top-3 for FF combat for me. I should get back to finishing LR since I have been putting my PS3 through its paces recently still.

Been doing some Peace Walker bro-op with a friend after noticing the servers for it on PS3 are still up. Not being able to crawl is screwing with me, and the load times between areas could be better, but I've been enjoying it. That game is going to really need a re-do on the hand-drawn cutscenes if they ever do a modern port of it though, because they're looking real rough low-rez even on my PS3 due to its PSP origins. Surely they still have the original artwork scans kicking around to prepare and replace the ones in the game with.

XIII-2 was really good. Iirc my only gripe was some of the puzzles reach ridiculous levels of hard and I googled a ton of solutions.

So this is one of the few Final Fantasy or RPG games I didn't look up anything to solve the puzzles which I struggle with usually. Even the last area I was being stubborn about.
Well now I wanna go boot it up..

Also if you guys are sleeping on
World of Final Fantasy of is one of my FAVORITE games and story was just..damn.

Hats off to you, those radial puzzles towards the end of the game just broke me.

World of final fantasy has no business being as good as it is. You'd never know there was a super deep story under the chibi exterior

To be fair, it's really hard to look past its "Sugary sweet" playfulness since it really dollops it on super hard in the opening hours. Tama doesn't help matters either.
Shame I chose to play the Vita version, which rarely held even 20fps, and never got the Maxima update.

Just a shame S-E is hellbent on selling full priced "HD2D" games/remakes instead of more stuff like WoFF doing its own thing stylistically.

I did enjoy what I played of World of FF, but didn't bother with the Maxima upgrade for some reason. Maybe it was because the data from the prior one didn't carry over?

I might've actually traded it in.. but I still have the save data, so may just buy it off the PS store.

Also, just finished 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.

Damn good game. A shame I slept on it as long as I did.

I also bought Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on PC with a sweet discount through Epic Game Store since they simply did not release intergrade on Ps4.. The game looks and plays poorly on laptop with Intel gfx card.

So I went ahead and installed Parallels on my Mac and ran Windows 11 ARM on Virtual Machine.

And voila, Intergrade, along with the expansion works perfectly on a virtual machine.

Makes me wonder, if a base older M1 MBP can run it through virtualization on high settings there is no way PS4 or PS4 pro would fall short. Super BS decision to exclude PS4 from the DLC.
