Decided to try out the beta for First Descendant. It's pretty much Destiny-lite, but it's fun.

Digging deeper into my new PSVita...I am shocked at how this console managed to fail. Games like Wipeout are beyond their time. I guess you should never underestimate the potential of poor business decisions and marketing failing things hardcore.
PSVita store is also in a much better shape than PS3, runs great and almost all titles I've searched are in there.
My main beef with the store is the same as on the PS3, where you're stuck going through a dreadfully slow chronological list of your licensed purchases to find a specific game or its DLC to download, which is doubly annoying if it's something that got delisted so you couldn't just search it on the store to download via its page. That aside it's still a fantastic handheld, but they did the damage with those memory card prices and then dropping it after a couple years to focus solely on the PS4.
Yeah, i am shocked at the way they’ve designed the memory card system.
Man, if you want to get me ranting about Vita, it's not so much the mem card prices, but the speed of the mem card itself. Doubly so when you can't simply copy a game save to your PC. You have to copy the whole damn game to back that up, or pay for PS+ to use cloud storage. Shit takes forever to backup/restore a 3gb game to a PC or PS3. 10 minutes at minimum via USB.
I've been whittling away at Muramasa slowly via my capture card the past month with the Vita TV, and the store being dead also means that the TV iteration of Vita is stuck with ancient ads on its advertising screen that sits between the OS and the game page. Been too lazy to CFW it to remove that, and they could have simply removed it themselves with that update awhile back that mandated fetching a code from their website to log-in.
They probably had some shitty DRM *** in mind while designing it this way, you can’t consciously fail with such a strong hardware this hard otherwise, this is Harvard Business Review case study material fail. Watch how they learned their lesson in PS4 and made it in a true plug & play way.
I was expecting to buy a pair of headphones with a jack just for this and pleasantly surprised to see it is Bluetooth ready. Mother****er connected to a pair of modern bt headphones in a matter of seconds. When did we get this feature in Switch, 2021?
I’ll go ahead and expand my Vita library while the store is still up. Still have to catch up with GoW backlog. Its super fun to play games on this thing, games are cheap af as well. FFX remaster, RE Revelations, Uncharterd GA are the rest of my list. I’ll probably go for platinum!
There's a whole Vita hacking section on reddit/forums that I strongly recommend looking into if you haven't already.
The process itself isn't *that* difficult if you read it step by step, and there's youtube videos for everything.
Once I jail broke it I just uploaded games to the Vita via FTP and never looked back. There's also a way to use microsd cards with it as well, which came after I jailbroke it. I haven't touched mine in a few years. My problem is the thing is too small for my hands and I can't play more than an hour without them getting super cramped.
I'm playing through Octopath Traveler 2 and noticed the thread in SE games section was barren after release. So far, I'm kinda just feeling whelmed. It's fun and a great throwback to old school RPGs, but I feel like something just hasn't clicked for me yet with it. I chose the fighter dude as my starting character and that feels like the best choice, everyone else's intro story has been pretty basic and uneventful so far, with the exception of Osvald. Based on PS5 progress tracker thingy, I'm just shy of 20% through it. Did anyone else play and enjoy it?
I honestly bought my Vita about a year or two ago just because I saw posts about Vita hacking on there lol. There is a really cheap accessory you can buy for those microsd cards and it is just so nice having that Vita with like 256 GBs of storage and loaded up with emulators + some other things that I probably can't really talk about on here.
hmm BG what should I do? atelier fans help me out

I was gonna wait but hearing everyone talk it up so ended up diving in.
Lies of P is the fucking truth. Easily the best non-From Souls style game and probably the closest we'll ever get to a more modern version of Bloodborne. Performance on PC is also immaculate. Leaving my laptop in its lower mode which limits the gpu to only 100 watts and I still average like 170 fps on max settings.
Completely ruined all my plans for the day because it's so addictive.
first of all how dare you
your mom said it was ok
The Dusk Trilogy was one where each game got successively better: The DX versions only seemed to improve upon that.
With the Arland series, I think I enjoyed Totori the best. I'm not sure if that one has Rorona DX (the updated one). Meruru was.. ok. I don't recall finishing it. It wasn't bad, just got distracted by something else.
Sophie I'd snag below 20. I still need to play Sophie 2. It wasn't bad, just felt a bit shorter.
All of 'em have great music.
Just finished Cocoon (on GamePass by the way). Highly recommend.
Puzzles seemed to be the perfect difficulty of not too frustrating but still rewarding, and they do a good job of closing off irrelevant areas so you aren't wasting time searching in spots that won't help you advance. There were a couple of holy **** moments as you jump in and out of worlds... and as you start layering worlds inside each other to solve more complex puzzles.

Finished Sea of Stars, though I need to play a bit into NG+ to get the one trophy I'm missing. Thought it was a good game until I got to the true ending, then I thought it was a great game.
Recently fired up Collection of SaGa and playing through the first one, all I can say is mutants are absolutely broken.

finally playing phoenix wright and it's great but man does this game do some stupid bullshit sometimes. like sometimes progression is literally just "fucking try everything and then give up idk" lol
