I'm playing World of Final Fantasy now and it's fun! Kingdom Ni no Fantasy Hearts.

Just hit a part with super strong monsters that you have to evade though and on the very last one it stopped short and turned around to kill me so now I gotta start all over.

I keep meaning to get Baldur's Gate 3, but I'm debating on upgrading my PC. Last time was 2019.

it's better than any game you'd otherwise play including Chrono Cross but i feel the desire to let it shine. best lookin isometric RPG in the game.

    ^agreed.

FYI, game runs great on my Mac Mini 2018 (intel), 6800XT egpu (thunderbolt 3 bottlenecked) on a 4K monitor. Ultra settings. I can imagine it’d be even better optimized on PC.

Yep, I'm sure it'll run well on my PC.

...But I want it to run AWESOME. Either way if I see it on sale again I'll likely snag it. Have some time off coming up.

Though oof, still need to finish..both Divinity Games.

wasn't the biggest DOS I fan but II is a mastapiece to this day, still prefer its combat system to BG3's. and no spoilers but it's p funny how similar some BG3 characters are to their DOS II analogues.

Work has a old school street fighter 2 tournament, so I have to dust that off and knock rust off.

Beat God Hand finally. Was pumped as fuck, and started hard mode. Immediately got my shit kicked in multiple times before the first checkpoint and called it quits on that. Finished TimeSplitters 2 on normal as well alongside it, quite enjoyed rerunning that outside of one specific mission.

Started STALKER1 up again after many years, vanilla, and intending on finishing it this time. My OG DVD release save got hit by a game breaking bug late in the game, and I didn't know better to make backup saves back then. I also forgot how godawful the weapon accuracy is in the early hours of the game, christ. The odd crash aside though, been enjoying the hell out of it.

Also in my infinite idiotic wisdom, I picked up the D&D Silver/Goldbox Collections off Steam during the sales to clog my backlog with 28 more games. I know I want to at least beat the Eye of the Beholders, Pool of Radiance, and Dark Sun in it. The rest of the games I'm completely blind on and am kinda looking forward to seeing what I get.

Honestly don't know why I'm mostly playing decades old games of late. The only 2024 games I touched at this point are Foamstars (bleh), Atlyss, and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.

Isn't there one of those old 16-bit D&D games that's completely unbeatable? Forget if it was Beholder or Dark Sun.

Crystal project has been lovely. Open world final fantasy 5 is the best way I can describe it. Figured it was a quick sub 10hr game and I'm at around hour 40 wondering how much more there is to explore. Games absolutely massive

Nostalgia is a powerful emotion. Older games bring you back to your childhood and what you might have missed back then. They are also the "early history" of gaming which I always found interesting. Feels like living a history book.

Nowadays I am playing FFVIIRebirth, Silent Hill 2, Robocop every now and then, Rachet and Clank, EAFC25, Tekken 8 and so and so...being a newcomer to the current generation I feel like a kid in a candy shop.

Mostly is a bit of both for me, since I already have a palette for dealing with that era of games where nothing was standardized and every game mostly did their own thing, especially on the adventure/RPG end of genres. I have the Ultima and Might&Magic(not Heroes) series to get through also at some point that I played some of when I was younger.

Just need to get through a good chunk of these D&D titles first, along with some PS4 titles I've been whittling through on the side when I need a palette cleanser.

I definitely do have a list of current gen games I want to get to once they're both discounted enough, and after I have a strong enough GPU to power through a lot of what I dislike about modern rendering techniques, which mostly boils down to sheer over-reliance on temporal crap and upscaling causing the game to look blurry/ghosting in motion without bruteforcing the problem away on PC.

Definitely still waiting on all of FF7R to be finished and done with (and on PC) before I delve into what'll probably suck away 200 hours of my life.

Now that the Nvidia App is out of beta I've been playing around with RTX HDR on games that don't have HDR support. Been playing a lot of Everspace 2... and while it isn't an amazing game it certainly is pretty. RTX HDR is pretty impressive in my opinion.

Getting near the end of World of Final Fantasy (I think?) and there's a distinct lack of good grinding spots, especially considering how many Mirages there are to level up and master.
