Like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza is some grade A dumb video game fun. Without having played 0-6 and not fully knowing his backstory, Majima feels at home as a leading man. Fighting feels right with lots of options to approach combat, and the bigger fights flow really well all things considered. Ship fighting isn't as in-depth as I woulda liked, but it's plenty serviceable. Only knocks on it I've really got is ship exploration is pretty bad/slow/limited and the island dungeons are pretty lacking in variety or fun.
Went shopping in my backlog while I wait for MH:Wilds, and decided to try out The Last Faith. Holy shit it's good, it's like the perfect fusion of soulsbourne and Igavania that I never knew I needed.
lateslip but played Returnal at long last, top 3 PS5 game. still only have a slight understanding of what the hell is going on but gameplay is tight as can be and the Solaris/Lovecraft madness is compellin at least.
also playing Avowed got me on an Obsidian kick and started a Tyranny replay. remains one of the most underappreciated CRPGs in history. if only it had a sequel that cliffhanger is rough.
lastly finishing up Donkey Kong Country 3 for light Switch gaming then debating a Zelda run and/or hopping over to Banjo and DK64 for retro vibes
You have to beat Returnal quite a few times to piece together what's going on
without getting into specifics for spoilers, iirc i think you only have to “beat” returnal twice, its not like hades where you literally have to win ten times to unlock the whole story. it will likely take more than two playthroughs though
but yes, even after winning it still won’t explain everything. the dlc added a little more for the story i think also but still left things unresolved (in a good way)
i should replay returnal at some point, game was great. but the dual blades are calling
Well "beating" it after the first time is slightly more convoluted where you have to collect the items from each zone before beating the final boss again iirc, and it's not something that can necessarily be done in a single run
didn’t want to get into it too much but yes, it depends on how fast you can find the collectibles (can you get more than one per run? i don’t remember). but i think you still only need a second win after finding them all (feel free to get more wins tho)
did this mfer say it will 'likely' take more than 2 playthroughs to beat Returnal and then get all the secret ending collectibles
i meant more than two playthroughs as in wins you dingus, context
the tentacle panthers are eating me mert
have you considered getting gud
Well, for the "true" ending you
Spoiler: show
I would say, just be careful with getting greedy and trying to kill shit. Honestly, I think the first biome is one of the hardest ones because you start with the pistol with no traits and no artifacts or anything. A bad room with like 2-3 Treant fucks can screw you over lol
Finished my play of the ff13 trilogy.
Tldr 13-2 is the best of the bunch. It's Pokémon + all the good stuff from 13 with less of the bad
Story across all of them was basically nonsense, hitting a high point in ff13-2 for me. The message was fine, fighting against a higher power to be masters of your own destiny, but the execution was needlessly convoluted and never really makes sense
Gameplay wise again 13-2 takes the w for me. Just improved on 13's base system. Lightning returns you either love it or hate it, and I hated it
Final boss of lr was so hard(need to Stagger to deal damage to, but is so Stagger resistant he's practically immune outside of cheese strats) I just watched the ending on YouTube
Next up is Another Crabs Treasure
Split Fiction is a must play. Its def goty material. Its been a long ass time since I had a "wow" moment in a game so many times.
I watched the final sections on YouTube (highly unlikely I'll play it) and "wow" is an understatement.
lol yea I was watching a stream the other day and someone was late in the game and thats what sold me. I was like I have to experience this shit. Told my bro to download the free copy, im gonna buy this. So far it feels like when you picked up a videogame for the very first time, its pretty amazing. So many references to other games as well.
