Tempted to start Jedi Fallen Order now.

But on a PS2 nostalgia kick. found Grandia III on the PS3 store for $10, so went with that.

Some of the Japanese games I've had got translation patches that are or near 100%; Tales of Rebirth, Growlanser VI, etc.

I think I am nearing the end of Fallen Order and I definitely recommend it. It feels like the game is some weird hybrid of dark souls/Uncharted/Tomb Raider where it doesn’t exactly excel in any of the things it takes from those games but it does do a very good job. And now, five years after it’s release I can appreciate this as the genesis of EA’s incredible hair physics engine that they really perfected in DA Veilguard.

Yeah, I agree with Andalusian Girls story wise beats most of the post-disney content out there.

If you liked Fallen Order, you'll most definitely enjoy Survivor as well. Feels truly next gen after Fallen Order. Not to deep into the game yet but so far it is a 10/10, and keeps getting better and better.

I was so closed to finishing Doom Eternal (and its a tough nut!), then came my transition to PS5. Can’t transfer saves. Gdi.

Finished off my platinum for THPS1+2, and beat Sonic Frontiers (+plat as well).

I have a lot of thoughts about Frontiers, and most of them boil down to "Should have been delayed a year to make some substantial fixes with the gameplay variety/story presentation". I could write an essay about how nothing in the game fits together well. It's a decent podcasting game at the least since it's good about just letting you fuck-off and tackle the objectives in any order you please.

I think I'm a load Jedi Fallen Order back up soon due to recent discussion here, and whittle away at both that and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Slowly getting this backlog down, while I ignore the six some Yakuza games I still need to work through.

The spring sale ended 10 days ago, the next major sale isn't until June 26.

There's a fest going on for City Builder and Colony Sim games, but that's not quite a sale.

    Evil Genius 2 is $4 - https://store.steampowered.com/app/7...ld_Domination/

Cities Skylines is $3 (but has a lot of DLC), Frostpunk GotY is $10, Oxygen Not Included is $9, Banished is $7

Coffee Stain has a sale going on, ends in 12 hours
    https://store.steampowered.com/sale/...lisherSale2025
Valheim is $10, Deep Rock Galactic is $10, Songs of Conquest is $10

Now that I've finished Silent Hill 2 Remake (will get back to it for platinum), I've got 2 solid horror games in the backlog.

    1. Alan Wake II
    2. Dead Space Remake

Both will be my first exposure to the series, am considering starting with Alan Wake II first as I absolutely love mystery/thrillers.

I would suggest at the very least watch a series recap on Alan Wake & the DLC. It plays directly into part 2. I did it before I started playing 2 and was glad I did.

IGN released a video when II came out from Sam Lake (Remedy's Creative Director) recapping the story beats you need to know from the first game, American Nightmare, and Control's AWE DLC. The game operates strongly under the assumption you know the story from all of those.

The game also makes a lot of not so subtle references to other Remedy games like Max Payne and Quantum Break

This is reminding me I need to reinstall the game and go play the second DLC that's supposed to be the eventual lead in to Control II

Hmm with all these connections and Remastered being heavily discounted now I am tempted the play the first one.. and maybe Control somewhere down the road.

3rd watching a story recap on AW1. Control is just a hella fun game that's held up very well over the years if you haven't played that already. It's not necessary for AW2 but it is definitely referenced in AW2 and many in universe things make more sense if you have played Control.

Dead space remake was a fine remake but I wouldn't go out of my way to play it over Alan Wake 2. AW2 is definitely a better experience imo.

PC version of Control just got updated in the last week or two actually. Updated DLSS and added an Ultra RT mode, along with some bug fixes and including the Hideo Kojima quest and some outfits that were previously Playstation exclusive.

Wow apparently I’ve pre-ordered the Mac version of Control:Ultimate Edition months ago for $3 and its out now!

I also decided to actually play the first Alan Wake and bought the remastered version on PS5. So far it is very playable, looks pretty good and doesn’t feel dated at all. I am sure dynamics at some point will show its age but as long as the story is solid I won’t mind it at all.

I went down the exact same path after SH2; well, half of it, looked into Devotion instead of Dead Space. Alan Wake ended up being sorted out due to being an Epic Store exclusive for life, Devotion, on the other hand, apparently was made by a studio from Taiwan. And they included a Winnie the Pooh easter egg, which, apparently, led to the game being delisted just about everywhere due to lukewarm reception from mainland China. Was available again at one point, but seems like it isn't again.

Now I'm wondering what I'm gonna play next.

But you miss out on all the blatant product placement on the remaster, like the Energizer batteries that last five minutes. True to form.

Gdi, I remember “that” era of product placements. Must’ve been hillarious.
