I keep forgetting Dimensions II was originally a gatcha game. I grabbed both Dimensions a couple months ago when I was reminded they existed, and happened to be half off at the time.

I'm surprised S-E even maintained the games given how old they are, since they've delisted other offline games in the past like the first three entries to Chaos Rings, which came out around the same time period. Sucks that the physical release on Vita never hit here, since it included all four games in one package.



I'm passing Inferno like I did Deathverse due to them being multiplayer focused. I like that LiD is just me vs. the game, which I can play at my own pace without worry, except when some twat decides to invade my waiting room to steal my shit when I'm not there, like FOB invasions in MGSV (I really should get back to finishing that some day).

I don't want to worry about seasonal resets, battle passes, or other fomo crap that plagues every multiplayer game these days, both f2p and paid.

Man.. don't remind me about Chaos Rings. I actually enjoyed it.

Had it on my old iPad; that and the second one, but eventually they just wouldn't run.

Still been cracking out on Let It Die here even though my progress is a bit slow in the late teens floors. The game's stat jumps between tiers of gear/characters is a bit stupid and requires you to regrind stuff every tier you unlock, so you don't get murdered on the following floor.

I also started and burned through Wolf Among Us, and now I get to sit with the rest of the people waiting on the sequel to never come out. I don't know why I slept so long on this one.

Got the 5 hour speedrun achievement on Silksong and it was hectic but ultimately not as much fun. Exploring the world and taking your time with it is part of the game.

Been playing a kind of combo RPG/platformer called Crystal Project. The music is good, the game itself doesn't seem to have a plot.

I know there's the collection on Vita that, if you get the Region 3 version has English translations for the first three games, but not paying $150 for that.

The whole debacle of Chaos rings is what turned me off from downloading games onto mobile (aside from gacha trash); straight up paid for it and can't access / run it which is some BS.

It's also one of my pet peeves with Google Play: It never shows the devices or Android version range an application supports beyond a single number. I have a few older EA/Gameloft games which I can't play on any of my current devices that have long been delisted. You know, back when companies made actual full games instead of always-connected f2p casinos in disguise that also get delisted in a couple years anyways due to shut down servers.

I rarely buy phone games as a result, unless I plan to play them now on the current system it supports, like I'm doing with FF Dimensions 1 & 2. On that note, approaching the end game areas of the first game finally after 40 hours. Still wish they just let me swap between the two parties freely as I desired until Chapter 4 hits, vs. ping-ponging them every episode and having to rebuy the same armor/spells every time since that rarely deviated between them.

I was going to go that route (physical wasn't that expensive to import when I last looked) until I read that you need an Asian PSN account for it, since the 4th game (the one on the cartridge) has menu buttons to download the first three digitally through PSN, but the links it's directing to don't exist on NA PSN. Wouldn't be a big deal if Vita didn't require you to format your system to log into a different account, and I'd have wanted the trophies on my main account anyways.

Decided to try Our Adventurer Guild and I guess it's fun? But it's also so TEDIOUS. Everything takes forever and you've gotta be super cautious or it's really easy for your whole party to die and make you have to start all over with new adventurers.

Got my 5070ti installed today, to replace my old 1060gtx, and christ almighty DLAA at 1080p is crisp compared to the FSR3/XeSS Balanced profiles I was stuck with, which artifact/blur out the ass in motion at 1080p. There's still some minor temporal crap I'm noticing, especially on high contrast changes, but I can overlook it with how clean and stable everything else looks, which was my main complaint with the alternatives.

I need to do a proper deep dive into Cyberpunk now that I can run it around 90fps with the RT Overdrive preset, compared to how bad it looked to hit 60fps on the 1060 on low preset.

As for the current gaming log, I finished FF Dimensions 1, which I'm indifferent on, and am 20hrs into its sequel, which I'm very indifferent on, but at least it has a god damn story unlike FFD1. Also beat Let it Die, which sucked my soul away for a good month (was great to play podcasts during), finishing the main game at the 107 hour mark. Going to save the post-story climb for the announced Offline version.

Started Nine Sols a couple days ago and I'm liking it a lot, despite its upfront difficulty. Next few months I'm probably set for games since I can now whittle away at the "Save for when I have an RTX card" backlog, like Control, and the aforementioned Cyberpunk.

That plus a healthy dose of Witchfire have been very effective at helping me ignore my family.

Blasphemous I enjoyed a lot (probably would more nowadays since they patched in the ability to place markers on the map iirc), and PoP: Lost Crown is one of the better games I've played that everyone else passed on. Game felt just right on hard difficulty (or whatever they called the one that was a step above the default difficulty).

Nine Sols is apparently a Metroidvania according to some people, but it's been rather linear area progression so far after a couple hours. If I had to compare it to anything, it'd probably be PoP Lost Crown, mostly because both have an emphasis on parrying in combat, and bosses will kick your shit in.
