I don't like how they changed the whole gameplay loop. It changed from RogueLite to Roguelike. It went from long term campaign to a run based loop which really killed my interest in it. The heroes don't stay with you but swap out per run

Oh, boo. Guess it'll be a skip for me.
Play Iratus Lord of the Dead instead. It's not as good as DD1 but it's a clone where you play the dungeon monsters instead
I got the end of FF3 DS and stopped, because I wanted to do the grind to make Onion Knight not shit, but the problem with FF3 DS is attack animations take god damn forever to perform since it wants to animate each of my 8 hits per character.
The Pixel Remaster version of it I need to get back to though since I was liking it, but was burnt out from doing FF1+FF2 a couple weeks prior.
Mostly been playing Mario Wonder before bed here, which it's great in 10-15min bursts with the size of its levels, although for the most part, it's a damn easy game.
Also dumped what feels like 10 hours into Xim, for what is just supposed to be a simple little grind thing that lifts FFXI assets and some concepts, but being its own thing.
Currently plowing through the resident evil 4 remake and dlc.
After that, probably going to start FF Tactics.

Started ff16 earlier on the week and so far it's a gorgeous movie with minimal gameplaySpoiler: show
What to play next?
Clair Obscure
Baldurs 3
Ff16
Clair Obscur -> FF16 -> BG3
Just due to length lol
Or you could do BG act 1 -> Clair Obscur -> BG act 2 -> FF16 -> BG act 3
Started up Darktide and man it's fucking fun
Oh man I remember why I quit playing the 3D remake of FF3, it was the underwater parts and that's where I'm at now with the Pixel Remaster. Just so damn tedious with nothing to break it up.

Act 1 of BG just wasn't my cup of tea until like 10-20hrs in. Made me put the game down for many months. Finally came back to it and got through to some better meat and now I can't put it down, but that opening pacing is just not my cup of tea. The Nautiloid opening was good, but everything after was meh for awhile.
I'd do FF16 just cause of the length compared to the other two. One and done real quick, and it helps that the game and plot are actually really good for a first play through. L3+R3 to accept the truthhhh

Beat the true final boss of Hollow Knight last night. Time to work on Path of Pain and the Pantheons this weekend.
Nice! Man that fight stressed me out so much, doing an upward race while fighting.

it took me five months to beat bg3 because i kept picking it up then putting it down again for a while. it’s definitely a slog at times (plus im one of those people who has to check every corner of the map before i move on to the next area)
Darkest Dungeon has been vanquished, playing on and off since literally 2016 eat a dick dungeonnn
the Battle Brothers bros released their new tactical space-military sim Menace which i can see myself losing several hundred hours in
also rolling through the Shadow of Mordor / Shadow of War games. despoil Tolkien's lore and are Ubi collectathons, but darn fun power fantasy with some juicy gameplay. exactly what's needed after the brutal DD grind.
might roll through Darkest Dungeon 2 as well tho i know opinions vary there
Clair Obscur and BG3 are much better than FFXVI (which is p good), but, aye, beware BG3 is a massive time sink. i found it engaging from the jump and loved Act 1, Act 3 is where there are some pacing problems, just know what you're signing up for. game is better than it's ever been with Larian dropping a huge amount of FLC over the past couple years.
that said Clair Obscur is a really incredible emotional experience. hasn't been anything quite like it in a long time.
i should get back to this sometime, it was fun on release but had some issues and sound like they're mostly resolved now
I should play Darkest Dungeon again, last game I went through a few years ago I got up to the Darkest Dungeon with my max level kitted out team and had a total wipe on the first boss.
