I've only played about 5 hours of co-op but we diverted less, remained mostly in the same vicinity, and didn't have simultaneous dialogues very often but there's no right or wrong way to do it really.

If you hear her PC's audio too well and it's annoying, maybe more of a setup/settings tweak might help? Headphones for one person or diminished audio levels for one player?

The game is out for iPad, apparently without any compromise. Larian says it is been rebuilt entirely for the OS and runs at settings equivalent to "highest". Sadly it doesn't work on my 2017 iPad(works on 2018 and later).

The developers usually build great ports for mac/ios so could be a great buy if you've missed it for some reason.
