The surprise could be a step-up for her banner, it wouldn't be the first time we get a feature early in GL. It's obviously related to some banner or event considering the date given is a friday and her banner is the most likely option at this point.
She also said "something", I don't think she's referring to a character there.

Have they mentioned recently when they'll implement the unit design contest winners into the game? I kinda forgot about that stuff until just now, so I doubt that's what they're announcing next week, but now I'm still generally curious when that stuff is coming.

Am i doing something wrong in dragonlord challenge? He manages to KO one of my allies randomly, despite dropping his MAG and ATK. My party is Rikku, Ramza, Basch, Orlandu, Agrias, and then any relevant friend unit, usually a triple chainer. First round is ezpz, but 2nd round, one unit just outright gets wiped out and rip my no KOs challenge. I’ve already done all the other challenges.

He periodically buffs his attack, which occasionally made things dicey for my WoL despite having his ATK/MAG break on. Took me a couple attempts to get the no KO tag, too, where I had my healer dualcasting a dispel then heal before my attackers did their thing when she didn't need to put up other buffs. The light/dark resist did my chainers no favors.

For some reason, one of my attempts had a batshit version of the DL in the first round that was doing 6k nukes despite fire resist. Couldn't figure out what was up with that one since I'd done nothing different in prior attempts.

He gets some ridiculous buffs if you full-break him. I took Basch with 100% fire resist and liquid slime with provoke. He didn't do much at all with just atk/mag breaks. A couple of Frys obliterated both forms.

I one shotted both rounds with Delita breaks, Ace Imperil, Orlandu + Friendlandu, and a 1700 atk Olive capping chain.

As expected, the step-up rewards/incentives are weaker than when this banner came out in JP. I think I'll do one lap in the hopes of getting a Lila, as Seph isn't "that strong" compared to E.Tidus/E.Fry/etc.

Spent 85 tix on the magic attack banner, landed Emp #2, Barbie #2, and T.Terra #1, so pretty happy with those pulls!

For step up do you have to pull them all in a row? Or can I sell the crap units I get then come back and continue pulling? I'm running low on unit space so I'm wondering if I need to add a bunch of slots to accommodate all the 10+1 space. The salt on reddit about this is fun to read.

You can pull whenever, doesn't matter. Honestly I'll dump my remaining Lapis on the current Batch 2 banner hoping to get Fryevia instead (already got Emperor#2 and T.Terra#2 so I'm happy anyway).

Hmm. Onion Knight is still my only decent 5* chainer. Think I'll hope and pray on the step up, since Sephiroth will also give OK a chaining partner. Game keeps giving me Rem's and finishers, as opposed to chainers, so kinda weak on that front.

Unless Knight Delita's enhancements are decent, then I have him too. Hopefully able to chain with Orlandeaufam.

159 tickets, stopped spending any. I do have 42000 lapis so considering the utility of the two guaranteed units, I might go ahead and spend 25k on the step up.
