Coren and I discussed this last night: DC Alterna should be leaps and bounds ahead of Zyrus' LB since Alterna is 5X with ignore 25% SPR and LB is 7.4X max. Personally, I took WoL for 45% DEF/SPR break, two Cids for chaining (mine and friend), Soleil for MAG enhance, and Tilith for overall. Cast DC Alterna, wait an hour (not really), then chain for Alterna to cap. If the first Alterna doesn't take his HP from 90-95% to 0%, quick force close the app and retry the timing. If you are slow, you get locked onto round 2 and eat the Mega Flare and wipe.

Edit: Zyrus has native 50% MAG damage to Dragons so, DracoX2 on him should be 200%.

Alterna is not an option here, I don't have Noctis... guess I'll have to farm a second Draco spike then. Can't even chain on my own because I'm constantly dodging good chainers so I need the friend slot for that.
I'll probably give it a shot anyway once I've crafted Killer+ and see what happens.

I've noticed some mobs seem to have what I'd just call Ultima resistance, which I'm not sure Alterna would be subject to.

Just had my first Insta wipe run. First fight after poping out of the safe zone. Thanks for wasting 25 nrg and OK buddy. Did get a rat tail on the first run I did so not all bad. Do I need more than 1 per attempt for bahamut?

Aikar if you have two shantottos, that's all you need to chain. Tornado chain maxes out the modifier and then you can cap with Alterna from a friend. Which as Theshun said, is way stronger than Zyrus lb.

You can only have one Rat Tail in item inventory (don't forget to equip it there). I have my Zyrus set with DC Alterna.

Ill throw Zyrus up as friend unit. Making a chain with dual Shantotto or Agrias/cid/DV should be simple enough.

Ok, that's interesting and actually a good thing. This means 7* awakening is an instant stat buff assuming 7*s have a different growth. I wonder if those 19 levels will take a lot longer to go through though.

So has the introduction of Illusionist Nichol changed anyone's setups with tanks? I realized I can make several units into evasion tanks now including Prishe, Rikku, Soleil and A2.

Prishe and A2 certainly have the hp to take magic hits. Just curious if anyone else is exploring new tanking options.

As long as you still have 1 unit active you can keep restarting a round if you close app. If you really mess up close the app and reopen on a different source like memu/nox and it will reset the fight entirely.

After multiple attempts and grind I have come to the conclusion that the nightmare challenge can go to hell. I just cannot figure out a way to get through this guy. I hate it.

After many tries, I was able to get it down with Agrias/2B/2B/Illias/WoL/Ayaka. Couldn't be bothered to try the 5 man challenge. You could probably do it with Firion/Orlandu(agrias)/Orlandu/Illias/WoL/Tilith(Luka), though I don't know how much of a chunk DVx2>Fin Briar will do. My DV > Avoid Attack x2 took the boss from 60% to 13% and I got lucky that in the next turn it didn't fuck me over with an opening MP siphon...

Soleil has become my new tank with I Nichol. She's awesome. The only problem with the two of them is her def/spr breaks are weak.
