Strago opens with CSB, Protectga, then begins building meter to have CSB recast at around 17 seconds.

OK opens with mUSB, RW, Voltech, then waits a second to que up Power BD that should hit right after Belias uses Saber. I ignored the 2nd Saber and just kept casting Voltech. You can refresh mUSB if you want for the extra quick cast on Vivi/Rydia, and should if you're gonna go past 30 seconds.

Rydia opens with Ogo, then Lunar Levi twice, then her BSB2 and Cmd1. I re-up the BSB if it's looking like a sub 30 or the USB if it's going to go over. After her 2nd SB use, I use Lunar Levi again instead of Cmd1. Command damage was hitting 7.5k.

Elarra has to be careful with W-cast heals until Vivi trances, because he will be the auto target otherwise. Open with ACM, then self target heals on OK or Rydia until Vivi trances. Wait for the big attack on turn 4 to use her USB. After that, you can auto target heals and refresh ACM as needed, and her USB should be ready naturally after every big attack.

Vivi goes Chain Waterga, 2x Chain Waterja, USB, 3x Waterja. USB should still have 2-3 turns at this point because of all the quick cast and TGM. The end of Waterja uses should also coincide with the end of Chain 1 assuming R4. If R3 then lean on Waterga.

Strago can use magicite on turn 4, but then there will be a 1 turn gap with CSB not active in the 16-20 second gap. Ok is a better user of it after his Power BD because it should eat the Painflare in it's near entirety. If Strago is the user, then slot 1 and 5 will need to be healed up because you'll be taking 75% of Painflare.

Slots are set to help build meter. 1 and 5 get hit the most, so that helps Strago have chain ready and Elarra to have healing ready.

Slot Mug Defense on Tyro. You need to cancel out Mateus' def boost. Crushing, while nice, does not cancel that buff. You don't have time to angelsong. Curada + Warrior's Hymn or Rallying Etude may be a better combo considering I don't see a natrual boostga.

That's Locke USB1. His 2 is en-fire + 4 hit chase.

Meanwhile I have the wind magicites to contend with. Now this will be difficult without chains.

Don't need angelsong. Tyro needs to build meter fast, that usb4 is vital because you're carrying basically three characters who can't do damage and only have a gen 1 chain. I'd rather brave than imperil usb (brave has entry imperil right?)

Angelsong was used only at the start of the fight to allow Locke to have exactly enough MP aafter turn 4 to Trance - otherwise she only Curaja'd, and USBd'd.

pulled on banner 2 for earth chain and actually got it, finally got my first quetz kill. is there an inheritance guide for 5* magicites somewhere? i have no idea what to throw in those slots once i farm enough to cap it.

Finally decided to try 5* Magicite by doing Famfrit (Lightning is most decked and I picked up Lightning's bUSB from free 33 draw).

Took hrs to finally learn from mistakes/pattern/tweaking setup, but got my first win!

I can see why Magicite battles led to players quitting in JP. They're essentially random number fights akin to Galaga-like games where if you don't have it on the slowest speed and you make one mistake you just wasted twenty minutes. It's mind numbing.

Wow so after seeing a sub 30 phoenix without CSB/OSB/AOSB by using Ignis's BSB cmd2 x2 on the DD's I tried it on my phoenix team because I figured I could probably finally get mine to sub 30. I got Tidus's AOSB during RoP and have his CSB/USB, so I could probably sub 30 without it, but good god it's strong. First try was 26 seconds and after a few more wins I was sub 23.

For those out of the know on this one, Ignis BSB gives att/res +30% +haste, and his cmd 2 gives a different buff depending upon a stackable bonus Ignis gains by using his cmd 1 or just opening his BSB and it decreases by 1 stack per use of cmd 2. He starts with 2 stacks upon opening so it should be all you need to fully buff a single DD. The buffs are: 2 stacks - +50% crit dmg, 1 stack - +100% crit rate, 0 stacks - healing + instant cast. He wouldn't be able to buff 3 DD's easily, but on phoenix he gains bars easily and it should be no problem to buff 1 dd then recast bsb and buff the other dd.

I'll be trying this with my melee fire team to see if that can finally make some leeway since I have no chain there but have otherwise strong DPS.

Yeah it's essentially a character specific chain; it doubles someone's damage. Not practical for more than 2 people I think though.

Eh, JPs didn't have our foresight. Most of the five stars should be clearable although the recent ones are harder than the early ones (quetz and KB are much tamer than syldra/chupon for example).

Finally mastered quetz via ignis burst and tyro usb3. Still incredibly slow but nothing to be done with hardly any relevant offensive ults or chain.

Having Mateus issues.

I can manage fine without a def break if the imperils go off, but my best run had everyone run out of steam at the end of the chain with like 10% left even after doubling up on Bartz fire BSB and Arcane capping at 66k.

Ruby budget will only allow me to hone Flame Assault or the new fire imperil.

The new fire imperil is great (more meter, same potency as the snipe but only 4 hits, 50% vs 35% chance to land the imperil). The assault is mainly useful for drain, because 4.0 isn't that far off from 3.7 with heat bite or 3.55 with half life soul burn.
