Thoughts on imperil vs chain for Adamantoise? I feel the imperil is necessary, with or w/o chain, but I think I could manage w/o it if I bring Terra with her fire Awakening+Meltdown with ghetto chain.

Chain, and... I didn't see either of you mention Dispel. His resistance buff can quarter your damage (well, maybe half, or less) -- but it's dispelable.

Correct, I mentioned it in my first response to Vandalhart, but not in my original post. I am slotting that, usually with Fujin (Chain Tornado+Dispel/OSB/Gathering Storm). I'll see what I have for Barbaricca as she's a wind mage and probably a better replacement for Freya in my case.

Right, Dispel was my second ability on Elarra I think. Unless someone else in that original group can use a dispelling ability.

I had some successes on Odin this weekend. I was able to down Ice Weak Odin and Fire Weak Odin over the weekend. I think I have a decent setup for Wind Weak, so we'll see once I get some time to try out the battle.

Those were my 2nd and 3rd wins. Still have 5 to go. I was able to get Wind Weak into his final form last night, but had 3 people die just before Zidane or Cloud pushed them into it so I wasn't able push the damage down. After that I wasn't able to remember what turn orders I did to get that far.

Pulled on this earth banner, got Galuf glint (and Leo AOSB but meh) and took that to clearing Ramuh for the first time, fuck yeah. No patience to get my other clears atm, but can't wait to have it done lol

oh man, I finally got Wind Weak Odin down last night. I' not sure why the fight took so long to figure out. I thought my attempt was going to go to shit because everyone but Elarra proc'd their Last Stand from her AASB, but she was the only one to proc it, then die in the final phase. Luckily I got a 95-98k/hit AOSB off on Tidus, and Cloud was hitting for 15-20k/hit with his USB. I don't even remember using Fabula Mage the second time.

The next one I'll attempt is Lightning. Kain is a beast, but my two Lightning Chains are Reno (who's good for imperil) or Garnet, but she's a Magic boosting chain. I don't have another Lightning AASB, I have a few AOSBs at least, I'll have to play around with it.

The 5 stages of Ramuh Grief:

1. Denial - "HTF can I even live through Stormlance / Get through Phase 1 / Take the counter damage in Phase 3 / Stay on Top of Rage!?"
2. Anger - "It's Impossible!"
3. Bargaining - "Maybe with AASBs or Glints? *pulls on Earth banner*
4. Depression - *gets 1/11 Bartz USB*
5. Acceptance - "Fuck you Ramuh!" *moves on*


Seriously, this battle all comes down to Stacking Earth Infusion - it went from impossible to steam-rolled.

Did you know, you can skip one of his scripted diffusions in phase two by keeping someone paralyzed for at least 2 turns?

I reduced Tyros MND to 5xx something by changing him to Def/Res gear, and he stayed paralyzed long enough that Ramuh uses... something else instead (forgot the name) ...everyone takes thunder damage but its nothing major like Stormlance.

Keeping the Infusion on made Phase 2 a lot easier/quicker.

This. My Tyro started in almost full MND gear (579ish? Maybe 559...?) with only +MND from magicite being Titan's all stats. As I got my copy of Ramuh (and its +all stats and higher overall magicite stats) I had to reduce Tyro to closer to 500.

Dry run on Titan. 50% but timing was off for Cloud to unload. Also I would kill to be able to pack more than 4 SBs on Bartz now rather than a few months from now.

What all does your Cloud have, USB1 and...?

I had issues with JUST USB1, and not matter if I combined him with Bartz, Zidane, or Fang Awakening s(although, Fangs USB making Jumps instant cast, including OSB, got me close almost every time...) I couldn't get him down.... I eventually got Cloud Sync on the first Fest banner and, when combined with USB1 destroyed the walls -- I'm pretty sure AWSB would pair well too.

It feels like it's been forever since the last new 6, but I have to remind myself that we got all of the new guys almost at once.

EDIT: And ifrit's stil going to be rough for me without stacking enelement,but at least I have multiple water AASBs. After that fire and ice will be comparatively easy (stacking enelements for fire, squall and rinoa have stacking enice for me although obviously using them at the same time would be a problem...)
