I'm a hardcore Wisconsin homer and I'm not upset about not getting in.
I'm pissed that the refs ruined our final drive with the game on the line, not at the selection committee.

what time does rutgers play
Sept. 1, 2018.
Time TBA.
Think of it as a really late bowl game from 2017.
Lmao, good stuff
After the way the last two years have panned out, I think the conference championships should be done away with in place of a true 8-team playoff. Right now it feels like the conf championships are quarterfinals... unless we just subjectively look at some other teams and decide they should be in the playoffs instead. Then you can put in the regular-season conference champ plus 3 at-large. Problem solved. I'd probably bump that quarterfinal game back a week from what is now championship saturday, but then the rest would line up with what it does now.
It won't happen for a number of years solely due to television deals, but I predict we will eventually get to a 6 or 8 team playoff. I would prefer an 8 team playoff with power 5 conference champions being an automatic bid, and the other three could be best record or group of five teams. A 6 team play off would also work, with 1 & 2 getting a bye and then 3-6 playing the bowl playoff games we currently have.
I think an 8 team is best because the way it currently is, #5 is always going to have a legit complaint about being left out. But if you went to 8 teams, #9 wouldn't really have ground to stand on.
If the money is good enough, they can rewrite and renegotiate those contracts.
TV would be losing 5 conference championship games (that may or may not be worth a damn) and getting 4 quarterfinal games (presumably seeded, so it's possible 8v1 would be a shit game, but not any worse than clemson/miami).
Tennessee expected to name Alabama DC Jeremy Pruitt as head coach
Am I the only one who just doesn't see Pruitt as a good HC?
rooting for failure for how they did my boy schiano
He helped FSU win a National Championship and his wife made him leave because he was fucking co-eds, that's the extent of my knowledge with him.
nevermind i like this guy now
Nah, 8 is right. Having Wisconsin, Ohio State, USC and UCF in there would be great.

Full season, plus conference championships, 8 team playoff and wack shit like the senior bowl? Kids would be playing real meaningful games from Aug - Feb if they're on a good team? Hard ask.
Yall are some slave drivers for real
6 teams is the sweet spot, personally. I feel 8 teams invalidates the point of a conference championship and would be 2 games too heavy on the schedule.
You have 5 main conference champions get in - regardless of record - and then 1 wildcard. #1 and #2 in rankings get a bye, highest remaining seed plays lowest remaining seed.
Non- power 5 undefeated auto wins the wildcard. Otherwise it defaults to the highest ranked non-conference champ. This gives the non-power 5 a slight reward for winning all their games but puts them on even footing with the other 11-1 teams if they happen to have a loss.
In the very rare instance that #1 or #2 is a non P5 conference champ (Notre Dame, Boise State) they pickup the wildcard spot but still receive the bye. They could also just man up and join a conference (Notre Dame).
This Year:
Clemson and Oklahoma bye
UGA vs UCF (Wildcard)
Ohio State vs USC
