Weapon bash has absolutely 0 variation, so unless the target has phalanx or stoneskin on, a single use (as long as you know your normal damage) is enough to determine blunt resistance.

Thank you, that's very good to know. ^^
To be quite honest, I'm not familiar with the damage types of even the ones I've already listed.... I looked up Leaf Dagger tho, and Falkirk has it listed as slashing damage. And even tho it's usable from range, it's not ranged damage.
I'm wondering what they used Crag Throw for considering it's not even a ranged attack (won't affect enemies that have ranged-only shields up, or the Steely weapons in Ro'Maueve)
I will once you lrn2math or how proof works. I've said several times your theories could be right because unlike you I can admit it but that without proof you should really gtfo out of an entire forum section devoted to actually testing and mathematically proving things. Don't worry though it's taking awhile but in process of testing avatar stats
Note this entire thread exists because some people actually tried proving a bunch of things some of which you ended up being right away. The reason why this is taken seriously and you weren't is because they actually tested stuff while all you have is I saw a bunch of stuff. What stuff oh yeah know eyeballing. Even something as simple as a fucking statistic with sample size that can be analyzed would go a long way to people taking what you say as more than just conjecture on the resistance thing. To give you an example I thought something was odd with pet racc a few months ago. I asked around. Nobody else could confirm. Instead of going herp de derp I know what I'm talking about cause I notice a lot more misses all the time I went out and parsed it and waited till a sample size of several thousands of hits/shots and came back and said see guys something is up.
So ranged can sometimes we super weird. Like a spell can not count for things that care about ranged but still use things like racc/ratt which was a bit of a problem for some blu spells awhile back iirc. Also not sure exactly how it works but you can notice some things not counting as ranged in some ways when up close but when farther away it will. For example did a lot of AATT on pld. At range Amon drive would hit and petrify me each and every time. Next to it I'd block and not get petrified. Shit can be weird.
I'll ditto the above that weaponbash is more consistent (in fact complete calculatable) that shield bash. It's main problem was it was kind of low so would leave a bit of a margin for rounding but you can boost it a bit now.
To the rest of the testing 1000 needles isn't about castings they are referring to jug pet 1000 needles for piercing which was changed a couple years back despite the jug is way under capped. iirc it's actually ???? needles now and deals varying dmg but it's always divided out evenly amongst targets. blu 1000 needles still does the same thing but it's light magical
Not exactly sure what the pets are for off the top of my head. I'd assume leaf dagger is slashing though normally would use excal for that and that crag throw might be the other type of blunt.
As far as mdt and mdb I think they talked about that and maybe breath in there initial testing
So, as some know, the Domain Invasion dragons have a mechanic that scales a special DT term depending on how it's fought. Normally, it has -50% DT when it first spawns after being killed, but it loses some DT every time it is fought, but not killed. This can eventually lead into taking greater than normal damage.
However, interestingly, it seems that this mechanic also affects Skillchain damage independently of their resistance ranks, unlike normal DT. This mechanic seems to be an additional multiplier to SC damage after the base damage from resistance rank is calculated.
Once again you're making assumptions of the inner workings of my mind when you have no idea what you're talking about. You ASSUME I just did one test and eyeballed it. Get over yourself, you're not imperfect. I never claimed to be 100% right in this instance, I don't claim to be unless it's 100% true without a shadow of a doubt (like the bats and acuex WHICH I TESTED).
Your tests are invaliad either way, you're doing Very Easy which is irrelevant to my question. For all you know they specifically disabled avatar SDT (or whatever it's called now) on higher difficulties specifically to prevent a full party of SMN steamrolling all the avatar battles on VD when they were first released by using the opposite avatar. By dypassing their SDT, instead of them being killed one at a time and resummoned so they can join the fray again, they're all wiped out at the same time now regardless of element with the avatar's AoE, putting all the SMN at risk. That could have been their reasoning at the time for varying the mechanics per difficulty level. Some shitty testing on VERY EASY means absolutely nothing. Go do that and come back to me before you accuse me of not doing anything, because I've done VD about a thousand times now using the exact same setup every single time and have come back with the exact same results every single time, and no I don't need to write things down on a little sticky notepad to remember extremely obvious trends happening in an extremely obvious consistent manner because I'm not autistic like you
Let me guess during the old 75 cap era you were screaming at your linkshell "WE DON'T KNOW IF KIRIN IS WEAK TO WIND GUYS!!!! NO ONE HAS DONE THE MATH!!!!"
This game isn't the rocket science you make it out to be
I can't tell what the focus is for you two; it it the testing or is it the dick measuring?
My favorite part was when someone got called autistic for wanting empirical evidence for something in a section called Mathy Parts
He has no idea how to conduct and/or document testing and literally eyeballs everything or doesn't record it or perhaps is too afraid to post complete results. Makes up theories with nothing to back that have never been found to exist anywhere else them when proven wrong to move goalposts.
Literally everyone else in this thread has in some way or fashion tried to contribute and for most part has succeeded.
Jacob has been a combination of trolling/drama stirring. Make a meaningful contribution or gtfo
Stop trolling. I'm being nice and not banning you outright for being zelduh.
Just a small heads up. Looks like there's been a few updates over there, but I'm going to wait a few days in hopes of Ambuscade/DD-Windurst getting added fast before updating the spreadsheet.
