My wife is the same way. My kid is 6. There are still a lot of changes that happened to my wife that I still need to get slapped over the head once in awhile. Also was on deployment and missed her birth and didn't come back until she was 4 months old.
But this US policy change is dumb.
I think I'm just communicating myself horribly. I have to sit there and watch what my wife goes through every day and, honestly, I wish I could do it for her. I hate that she doesn't get rest and that her body is affected so much. I admire her more for that. If she chose to just stop tomorrow and go to formula I wouldn't argue.
I get the feeling some of you are just parroting "A WOMAN SHOULD BE ABLE TO CHOOSE HAVING A BABY GIVING IT BREAST MILK AND WHATEVER SHE WANTS" and frankly, while I agree, we're teetering dangerously close to the point where we should just grow babies in an incubator and hire a nanny.
Part of being a parent is the shitty part of having to sacrifice for your kids. If that makes me a terrible person then I guess I'm just a terrible person. I support whatever choice my wife makes but I'm still going to tell my patients "breast first, if you can't, just use formula and do all this other shit too or your baby is going to get sick".
You can't have it both ways.
I agree that there shouldn't be an anti-formula stigma, but I just think there should be a line between the statements:
* Formula has a lot of practical benefits and may be the best for you and your baby in your situation
------- and -------
* In an ideal setting, formula is as good as the genuine article for babies
We don't know the value of formula, but we do know how bad stress and malnutrition are for developing brains. If attempting to breastfeed would result in anything (more irritability, unemployment, lack of calories) with a greater than 0 cost for the kid, obviously you should use formula for the kid's sake as well as your own. That said, there's no reason to believe it's as good as the genuine article for their development.
Life rapidly diverges from ideal.
I can get on board with that as well.
See, I get all that. In your case ksandra, obviously there were other issues where you weren't producing enough milk to satisfy your child's needs. Of course you should have jumped on the formula train at that point, and anyone still saying "try harder breast is best" is a fucking dick.

Ksandra, don't put the ball on the T-ball stand like that c'mon
Have you considered the honorable career of pole dancer? You must have the abs of a God with all those crunches you do on the squaty potty.

I am not trying to devalue Bane’s issue. But it’s not the same. This isn’t about him. He shouldn’t be making this about him. Last I checked hospitals don’t have posters everywhere saying he isn’t doing the best for his kids (which he doesn’t have) because he doesn’t have normal bowels.
Does bane have valid issues and stuggles?: Absolutely.
Should bane be relating that to mother’s connections to their kids?: No.
Is bane’s pain worse than mine?: I don’t know nor do I really care and I’m not playing that game.
But how will I know who to be more concerned for if I can't directly compare your struggles?

but in other news, the Syrian army just easily took Deraa, the birthplace of the uprising against Assad, as his forces advance largely unopposed throughout southwestern Syria. they appear close to retaking total control of the area as they seek to flush away all rebel forces and resecure the borders with Israel and Lebanon. what comes next is of great import as the only significant areas still outside of Assad's control are two rebel enclaves in the Northwest, one presently occupied and protected by the Turks, and the Kurdish enclave in the Northeast, ostensibly under American protection.
will Assad dare provoke Erdogan as the Turks continue to carve out a region in Northern Syria, will America abandon another dear ally surrounded by enemies that hate them, tune in next time on dragon ball z.
smell a vote of no confidence coming, though i'm not sure anyone in the country wants the job (besides Corbyn) so May may survive even as she pushes through with a soft Brexit deal that will infuriate both the Remainers and the Hard-Brexiteers, and one which there is of course no guarantee the EU will accept. last week's resignations destroyed the illusion of unity in London and may well convince the continentals to play hardball as they smell blood in the water, and no deal by March would be the worst possible outcome for Britain so the clock is atickin and concessions may be acomin.
all in all the Brits have mucked it up about as bad as they could hitherto but we shall see what comes.
Couldn't they just vote to stay.
they could. it would destroy May's government and polling suggests the race would be tight again but they could. the fundamental issue is Brexit is tearing Britain apart, both major parties split on the issue, the Scottish and Northern Irish split from the English on it, and the urban areas split from the rural. there is no clear path forward for what the people want, and there is no clear parliamentary majority that favors any single path between remain, soft Brexit, and hard Brexit.
