well, I wasn't talking about Christians forming a political coalition focused on minority rule in the Roman Empire.

Perhaps their doctrine doesn't tell them that they have to line up behind bigoted leaders, but their doctrine does deliver them a mixed message (Republicans win on abortion, hating the gays, and performative pro-Christian messaging, Democrats win on basically the rest) and their pastors tell them to line up behind bigoted leaders.

If we are honest, the reason the Church comes out hard for the Republican party is financial. They are a monied group interested in keeping their tax rate at 0.
