Adderall has a new side effect, psychosis.
It's not really a side effect so much as it is predictive.
It's controlled meth. Of course it causes psychosis, especially in patients who are manic.
shocking!
It's a feature, not a bug.

Drugmaker Indivior takes a financial hit, 70% drop in stock price, after the DoJ charges them for fraudulent marketing over their opioid addiction treatment Suboxone Film.
The Department of Justice (DoJ) has demanded at least $3bn in fines. Indivior had a market value of £202m after the collapse of its shares on Wednesday.
Assistant Attorney General Jody Hunt said: "Indivior promoted it with a disregard for the truth about its safety and despite known risks of diversion and abuse."
According to the indictment, Indivior "obtained billions of dollars in revenue from Suboxone Film prescriptions by deceiving health care providers and health care benefit programmes into believing that Suboxone Film was safer, less divertible, and less abusable than other opioid-addiction treatment drugs".
Indivior said: "Put simply, Indivior is not a contributor to the opioid epidemic. Rather, as acknowledged by government experts at the FDA [Food and Drug Administration]and CDC [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention], its medicines are a key part of combating it.
"Key allegations made by the Justice Department are contradicted by the government's own scientific agencies, they are almost exclusively based on years-old events from before Indivior became an independent company in 2014, and they are wrong."
This frustrates the fuck out of me, because there's a lot of solid science that refutes the DoJ's claim.

A woman who attended the premier midnight showing of Avengers: Endgame at a theater in Fullerton, CA may have exposed everyone in the theater to measles.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-48130848The Orange County Health Care agency warned that the AMC Theater on Lemon Street in the city between the hours of 11pm and 4am on April 25 as a possible exposure spot, Mercury News reported. Spokeswoman Jessica Good reportedly said that “the exposure risk applies to anyone who was at the theater during that time period.” The health agency added that the St. Jude Emergency Department the morning of April 27 and 5 Hutton Centre Drive in Santa Ana between 7am and 7:15pm from April 23 through 25 are also possible exposure spots.
An entire cruise ship belonging to the Church of Scientology has been quarantined for an outbreak of measles.
Dr Merlene Fredericks James said there was a confirmed case of measles on board and "thought it prudent that we quarantine the ship".
No-one aboard was allowed to leave.
The ship is reportedly the Freewinds, which is said to be owned and operated by the Church of Scientology.
Dr Fredericks James said in a video statement posted on YouTube on Tuesday that the ministry learned of the confirmed measles case from "two reputable sources".
"One infected person can easily infect others through coughing, sneezing, droplets being on various surfaces, etc. So because of the risk of potential infection - not just from the confirmed measles case, but from other persons who may be on the boat at the time - we thought it prudent to make a decision not to allow anyone to disembark."
My first thought was 'The fuck? They have their own personal cruise ship?' shortly followed by 'Good for you St Lucia, I wouldn't let anyone on my island either'. Hopefully all the remaining ports of call get word and do the same.

During a speech Thursday before faith leaders, President Trump announced a new rule allowing health providers, insurers and employers to refuse to provide or pay for services such as abortion, sterilization or assisted suicide that they say violate their religious or moral beliefs.
The 440-page rule is broad in scope, spelling out specific services that individuals and entities could refrain from providing or paying for based on their beliefs. It also emphasizes parents’ rights to refuse several specific types of care for their children.
Spreading measles to own the libs.

A Kentucky teenager who sued his school for barring unimmunised students has contracted chickenpox. He opposed the vaccine on "religious grounds."
And it's his attorney's fault;

According to FOX19, Kunkel isn't Wiest's only anti-vaccination client who has come down with the disease. “About half my clients have come down with it since we filed the case. … I flat-out told the moms and dads the quickest path to resolving this is having them contract chickenpox.”
Well, if you're going to refuse vaccination then you'd better contract it as kids.
Better than doing nothing and getting wrecked as an adult by it.

At least there's a shingles vaccine for us.
(when we get older)

My mother contracted Chicken Pox when my younger brother came down with it (she somehow dodged it with me as we were supposed to go to Disneyland and I came down with it, so I got sent to stay with my Aunt and Uncle and their two kids who already had it) and she was downright miserable for the week or so she had it. No clue why that disease kicks your ass as an adult, but if you get it as a little kid, it's like no big deal.
Can not vaccinating be grounds for social services to take your kids already.
