Holy shit people are retarded. My father and his oldest sister woke up paralyzed on the same day. He spent a year in an iron lung (he was a little over 3 yo when he went in). There was an experimental surgery to graft a segmented interlocking titanium rod to your spine to support it; the shriners and the lion's club offered to pay for it. My aunt was old enough to refuse the surgery, and was confined to a wheelchair for the rest of her life. My father had the surgery and was eventually able to live a life of insane adventure (he was quite the character).

My grandparents were very poor from east Texas. If not for those charity organizations, I doubt I'd be here today.

You'd have thought covid would have been enough for people.

It’s fucking wild how people can rewrite their own history, even when the evidence is staring them right in the face. A friend of mine was on death’s door when he got COVID. For anyone who doesn’t remember, hospitals were so overwhelmed back then they were sending people home unless their oxygen levels were below 90 or something like that. I’ll never forget him texting me as his O2 levels dropped, saying he felt like he was dying. He even wrote letters to his daughter, pouring out his love for her, just in case he didn’t make it.

Fast forward a few years, and now he’s acting like it was nothing more than a bad cold, like it wasn’t a big deal at all. He’s even proud he didn’t get vaccinated. When I showed him some of the texts he sent me back then, he just laughed it off and said he was being a pussy.

It’s so fucking crazy.

Y'all give folks too much credit. People are just uneducated and listen to whoever sounds "their kind of smart". Social Media has made it worse because armchair doctors jump on and go "WHY DO DOCTORS GIVE YOU SALINE WHEN SALT RAISES YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE".

We've cultivated a culture of stupidity because it sells and this is the outcome. Idiots gain legitimacy because they're put in positions of power and when you point it out you get called elitist.

I can't begin to describe enough how fucking dumb Trump and Vance are but people voted for them because they said good things. People who like that by convention think everything they say must then be correct otherwise they wouldn't have been elected. It's stupid.

I still have anxiety thinking about all the veterans I saw for on ventilators. These people are removed from that. It's literally first world levels of privilege.

Yuck.

I love seafood especially nice fresh fish. Whether it's from a restaurant, fast food, or that disgusting minced up stuff you buy at the supermarket chances are it's Alaskan Pollock. I don't consider it a very good fish to eat. Even if it's fresh it tastes "blah" to me. The fish swim in large schools near the sea floor and are harder to catch. But a long time ago someone figured out you could drop a large weighted net off the back of a fishing boat and just scoop them up. Then the big companies caught on and designed these massive ships where they catch, process and freeze them all on the ship.

Cheap bland fish for the peasants.
