As someone who works in cybersecurity, for the love of fuck don't connect your health records. Good lord people.

Epstein-Barr vaccine would be amazing. It's associated with all kinds of terrible shit.
Oh well, at least we're being inhumane to hardworking immigrants.

The culling begins.
This is fucking stupid. CMS already requires we do an in person evaluation for DME and even just general recommendations. This just unnecessarily delays care.

RFKJr is targeting Dunkin Donuts demanding to know if their Iced Coffee is safe to consume.
War with New England then
I'm split. I also hate unnecessary orthotics getting pushed at 10x markups.
I also had out SLP suggest an AAC tablet for my autistic kid, which is completely appropriate. But the device was an iPad mini with a hard case and a $250 AAC app (proloquo2go). Cost? $4,000. I initially told them no, I would just purchase it out of pocket. But after we sent everything to insurance, insurance covered everything except for $200, which was cheaper than me paying for it out of pocket. So I'll let my insurance company pay four grand for about $500 worth of shit. There is definitely some system gaming going on here, but I have United healthcare so fuck em. I swear, as soon as you say that something is for autism it automatically gets the "Wedding markup"
It's just an accounting racket, no? Health Insurance providers have their profits capped at ~15% of revenue by the ACA, so they shift money to sister businesses through stupid self-charges. To go through the steps:
* Someone bought an iPad and license for some software (estimated cost $500)
* That person billed (probably a chain of people), who eventually marked it up and billed your insurance provider $4000.
* Your insurance company billed you $200.
So your insurance company is out $3800 on paper, but if the insurance company is part of a larger corporation / holding company that owns the whole chain, the full chain is out only $300 and they have managed to redistribute $3800 of revenue from the insurance company to their other corporations that aren't profit-capped.
