i would like to learn more about this rampant promiscuity taking place
True, but I didn't feel it was worth taking the better part of an hour to type up a detailed exploration of the issue when everyone here is just going to write it off because my position on the issue is anathema to their world view.
So here's a bone to chew on. Sufficient sexual promiscuity makes long term pair bonding a near chemical impossibility. If I recall correctly the number of sexual partners is somewhere in the realm of 6 for women while men are able to manage a slightly higher number before suffering the effects. That coupled with the complete dissolution of social taboos against casual sex means higher partner counts become more common and thus long term stable relationships become much harder to find as many are simply waiting to implode due to an inability to pair bond. That is going to have very unpleasant consequences for society at large.
Birth control was a mistake.
Not sure about the whole bonding chemical impossibility but there is a plethora of studies that show having more partners leads to infinitely higher divorce rates and general unhappiness.
is that correlation or causation tho
It is statistically significant by no small means, but relationships are tricky and even the rise in engagement ring prices are being blamed for higher divorce rates.
We all know it is the fault of the pill and condoms though, and the blacks and their music and hip swingin.
It's almost as if love and marriage is more complex than just nookie.
Woah settle down bruh no one here is talkin about love.
Not sure what Mr. "Women Hurt My Unit's Productivity" is referring to, but I remember reading an article a while back that discusses how certain chemicals entice us to fall in love but will naturally wear off within a year or so. These are what give us the butterflies in the stomach effect and the "in a new relationship glow."
It's long enough to make people be interested in a monogamous relationship (which has an evolutionary advantage as a species) but short enough that, if you don't rush things, you would get tired of the relationship if it isn't built on something more substantial than attraction.
I can't find the original article, but here's a USA Today article and a Daily Mail that briefly discuss it.

Couples that do meth together, stay together. Keep the chemical euphoria strong.
That's like, just your opinion man.
