Seems like Sony messed up with their production of the CE's. Amazon delayed all of theirs to the first week of August. And bestbuy outright cancelled them all today and are giving the launch edition of the game for free as compensation.

Waiting for the discourse on this game.
Possibly Covid related? I know shipping dates and such seem to be all sorts of messed up.
Ghost marks the beginning of a new user review policy at Metacritic.

searching user reviews for it is kinda hilarious where nearly every single day 1 review (id est people that didn't play it) is 0 and the majority of recent user reviews are 9s and 10s.
but yuh p optimistic about thisun following a lot of the feedback. reading like flawed brilliance which are some of my favorite vidya experiences.
My brother said he was playing it all day yesterday and it was great. I may end up buying later today and binging it for the next day and a half
God I haven't been on BG in months.. Whats happening to me.
So this game did something I feel like not many of open world map-objective games have achieved - It made me actively excited to seek out and play through the 'bandit-camp' troupe.
For starters, in my opinion at least this has been the best combat system I've encountered in these style games. My closest second was maybe AC: Black Flag, but Ghost just makes every encounter so satisfying. The stance changes on paper feel like they're going to be a bit clunky but holding the change input slows down the combat so you can see what's going on around you and make a decision. This helps in selecting the ghost weaponry like kunai and throwing bombs too mid combat.
When I say satisfying, I mean to me, it feels like every attack you make is deliberate - not just wailing on an enemy until their HP is gone. Obviously that's what you're doing, but the feeling is more like "How many movements will this take to stagger and then end this dude." It just feels so good to play, especially when you start to get more of the interesting armor sets.
Ugh and the countryside. I've never stopped and taken so many screen shots. The colors in the landscape, the flowers blowing in the wind, all the leaves falling. So many locations in this game are just nice places to be, and it makes every enemy encounter feel that much more epic.
I could not stop playing, this the only PS4 game that I platinum trophied cuz usually I piss off when a story is done. I loved the integration of the wind mechanic and the bird to lead you to interesting locales and new map markers.
I can't recommend this hard enough. I loved every minute of it and I would give them a blank check for DLC.
Oh I forgot - The one thing I feel like this game really needs is gear slot saves. Not so much for the gear itself but the charms. When you get a lot more of the armor sets you realize just how niche they are, and to get the most out of them you ideally want to change sets for things like Standoff, for fighting Groups, for fighting Bosses, for Sneaking around. All the charms that enhance your armors' abilities benefit from being changed as well, and that would be way faster with a save gear system.
New 2 to 4 player coop mode coming fall 2020.
PlayStation Blog - Ghost of Tsushima Legends
Wow multiplayer is its own thing with classes, loot grind and a raid? wtf
Just picked this up. Have heard a lot of people say its game of the year or a game of the year contender. Interested in diving in
For those who've played this, what is it more like:
NiOh
Dark Souls
Tenchu
Or something else?
Friends wanting me to snag it and hop on multiplayer.
The co op mode is fucking amazing btw
So, how much of the Legends mode can be done solo? I didn't even realize until a couple days ago that it was possible to do that and thought it was multiplayer only.
Just finished the game, and hot damn that was phenomenal. Best Assassin's Creed since Black Flag! Kidding, kind of. The Shrines made me miss actually having tombs and things like that.
Great story, looked great, sounded great, and the gameplay was fun as hell. Lethal mode was a blast. The AC/Bushido Blade crossover that I always wanted!
One thing I wish I got more use out of was the armor sets. Outside of using the Traveler's set, I found I really only used two sets at any given stage of the game. Some of those charms seem like they could make some wild builds, like a stagger set, or a kunai set. Maybe I'll mess around with that stuff if I play NG+ some day.
