Our roommate staked out tickets this morning. The reserved seats schtick has ruined cinema in my opinion. Every "good" seat is always unavailable, yet when we go to these movies they are 50%+ vacant. Either way, we found some prime spots for the Saturday matinee so that we don't get squeezed into the side-aisles on opening night with 3D IMAX. It's going to be a rough two days avoiding the internet memes, though.

Forgot to say thanks for the heads up on this, saw it right before I had to leave this morning and managed to get tickets before all the traffic really hit.

To be honest, I only knew about the timing because someone on reddit who works at the movie theater posted a photo of them trying to buy tickets at the POS terminal yesterday only to be given a message that tickets weren't available for purchase until 5am.

I'm referring specifically to the ludicrous postings of pre-reserved seats on opening nights for people that are part of membership clubs or what have you. While I agree that it's a step up from camping out for seats on big show openers, those sorts of movies are rare (see star wars 7). For the vast majority of films its ridiculous. But hey, unpopular opinion.

I absolutely did not want to see Cap and Tony shaking hands in the fucking trailer. They skipped the entire last movie to have them kiss and make up and I wanted to wait for for the movie to see any indication of that.
