The Russos have said that, for balance reasons, the way they modeled Thanos using stone powers was that he had to make a fist to activate a stone, like drawing or brandishing a weapon, so that he had limits and couldn't just arbitrarily will stuff to happen.

As for the effects of the stones, we haven't really seen very much in terms of what wielding one stone alone can do with two exceptions. First is that the power stone was supposedly able to destroy all organic life on Xandar if touched to the surface; this is probably about the same in power as being able to move a moon in terms of feats even if it's less practical for the sake of battle. The second is Strange creating a time loop which is about on par with a discrete rollback of time with undoing Vision's destruction.

In the comics there is a very specific loop in which the stones supercharge each other, with gathering all six making an infinite loop that unlocks all of them.

He also came out on stage for some award ceremony like the weekend Infinity war came out or right before and said hey, i'm alive. He also spoiled the far from home title about a week before it was officially announced, and how many spiderman movies were in the pipe. Last comment spoiler tagged just to protect myself in case someone considers it an endgame spoiler.

He used multiple stones at a time during the fight on Titan, after Tony dropped that pillar on him right at the start he used Reality and Soul together to make those bats to attack tony, power and space together to throw the moon, reality and space together to pull Dr. Strange towards him and Power and Soul I think together to force all of Dr . Strange’s split bodies back together, those are the instances I can think of when he used multiple stones together, there might be more, but he did only have the 4 stones at the time so I’m sure if they fight him again when he has all 6 he’ll do more crazy shit.

Yes they light up as he’s using them, you can clearly see which he’s using when he makes a fist.

I was wrong about the first instance I pointed out though, he only used one at that point, the other two examples were correct though.
