On a more serious note, anyone who's alleging sexual misconduct but has failed to file a police report is full of shit. If someone sexually assaults you then you have a moral obligation to go to the police and get your attacker dragged before a court because if they'll fuck with you then they'll probably fuck with other people and failing to hold them accountable means you failed to take action that would protect other innocents. Crying foul years after the fact smells like women doing shit for attention, but if they're genuine in their claims then we need to shame the fuck out of them for waiting so long to come forward so future women raise a ruckus right away so this shit doesn't go on for years on end with zero accountability and god only knows how many victims.

The reason there's a concern about disproportionate responses in the last month of sexual misconduct revelations is that we've utterly abandoned the rule of law in America. A fair number of the cases reported in the media are crimes, which should be punishable by prison terms. None of that has happened. Bill Cosby, 40 years of rape, not in jail. Kevin Spacey, decades of assault, not in jail. Harvey Weinstein, decades of rape, maybe a case will emerge, maybe not. So the only response available in the absence of law enforcement is a kind of driving from the public square. We've left the profession of adjudicating crimes to the crowd.
