Oh shit I missed Google being Google. I'd like to point out that a lot of these allegations going around are past the statues of limitations.... so ya know can't really pursue criminal charges even if they wanted to.
There's also the fact that even if it did happen things like this tend to not always have very much or really any evidence. Not much any courts or cops can do with that and most people are smart enough to realize that. Doesn't mean it did happen but you can't be sure it didn't. Unless you like misusing statistics... so basically any stats done on these types of things that assume the unknown gray area doesn't exist
This is why part of why I advocate victims pressing charges immediately rather than remaining silent for twenty years.
Of course at some point we're going to have to confront the reality that a non-zero number of these cases were simply women throwing themselves at men with power and influence because that fulfills the female biological imperative of seeking the best mate, and then retroactively decided it was them being abused because twenty years later it gets them attention again fulfilling the female biological imperative.
women don't come forward right away precisely because of people like you.
I hope you understand that I tolerate and even respect you more than most people here, so when I say that, I'm not trying to antagonize. I'm not trying to judge. it's just a fact. doubting victims by default (because that's the position you have expressed on this board), telling them the appropriate time and place to come forward, stuff like that. that very attitude is a large part of the oppressive atmosphere that keeps victims from speaking out.
I'm going to repeat this because it's important: I'm not trying to make you feel bad, troll you, or attack you. you seem like a decent person. but you need to understand that the way you talk about this encourages sexual assault survivors to stay quiet - and that encourages sexual assault on the whole. not you, as an individual, no. but people like you overall.
seriously. try having a dick shoved up in you against your will and then having people tell you how you should handle it, or that maybe you wanted it because he was rich and famous. stop. right now. and think about how that would feel. think about your own mother telling you you're making it up, or a lawyer bringing up your entire sexual history (and the clothes you were wearing that night) to try and discredit you in court. shit like that. can you even imagine the emotions that come with being raped or assaulted? do you have any idea the psychological impact of going to the hospital, making a police report, going to court, etc. when all you want to fucking do is forget that shit ever happened. bonus points if the case gets thrown out or the guy gets away with it because hey, that happens too. a lot. all the pain you went through to bring this asshole to justice? lol, sorry, maybe next time.
what you're saying is accurate. coming forward right away would help. some women do fake it. but coming forward is not an easy thing to do, and the vast majority of attacks are not faked for attention or out of regret. when you focus on those factors, you become part of the problem.
I wonder if GoogleHead would go up to Terry Crews and tell him that sexual assault allegations are bullshit because he didnt come forward sooner.
I mean he's on twitter. Goggle could just @terrycrews and call him out and see what happens.
Why does everyone call him Google?
