It is apparently politically incorrect in some women's eyes to mention "Grace's" power as a young, desirable woman who admits to actively flirting with Ansari while she was on a date with someone else and inviting Ansari with her eyes until he asked her for her number. That would be no excuse for Ansari to sexually assault her, but he did not.

Fucking savage.

It sounds from "Grace's" words as though they each had different expectations of the date: he, that they would have sex, she, that she might date a celebrity. Her horror appears to have stemmed from disillusionment at their differing agendas.

The problem is that homie waited like 30 seconds then would try another pass. "Okay it's cool lets just chill. Hey turn around I've got a surprise for you." He respected the boundaries enough to stop when asked but not to cease his attempts that were clearly unwelcome. And as most people here have said, that makes him an asshole and scummy but short of a rapist.

Yes, he stopped. Then he tried again cause she stuck around for some oral. Then she said nvm and he stopped. Then she stuck around for some Seinfeld and he tried again and finally she got the hint that it's ass or uber and she picked uber.

I won't fault him for persistence when I know how dating works nowadays. Maybe that'll change in the future but right now I'm not ok with destroying his career over making clear what you want yet stopping when she decides she doesn't want to do it.

Except that the account is pretty clear about what he did and didn't do, and if this isn't a big deal like you claim, why is it so harmful to be in the public eye? If people feel that, even if it wasn't assault it was scummy and they don't want to give him patronage, isn't that their right? And if enough people treat him as anathema over this, doesn't that indicate that the norms of tolerable have already changed?

This is especially so because Ansari's comedy focuses on this shit. He wrote a book on it. He has developed a crowd sensitive to these issues.

We're you dating during the tinder age? My time was before that, but times are different man. But even by old standards what he did is scummy to do to a person, but not over the line. He made clear what he wanted and she tried regardless of that to get what she wanted. That's on her, even if I still think he's scummy for trying like he did.

I think i even said earlier theres nothing wrong with bringing this up if you want to have a conversation on what is or is not ok outside of assault. But I think it's telling that many people in the news, and even here, are on the fence on how to consider this for the very reasons I pointed out previously. There is no universal condemnation for what Aziz did compared to how the world reacted to Weinstein or Spacey. If enough people think it's bad behavior then he deserves what he gets, but at this point in time it doesn't look like as many people agree with your opinion on the matter as say how we all felt reading what Weinstein did. There is nuance here, maybe or even probably enough to save the short guys career.

You said yourself there's nothing wrong with bringing this to light. Yet you are saying it's an attempt to destroy his career. I'm saying so long as the account is truthful (and Aziz did not refute any of the claims regarding the sequence of events), the only way it can destroy his career is if we are at the point where we should recognize new norms.
