Most unbelievable part for me was seeing those rules laid down after two weeks and the girl not telling him to go to straight to hell. Fucking painful read. I hope she rebuilds her self worth by crushing him in public.

How the hell you gonna ask a doctor "how soon until sex" in front of her mother?
when youre a star they just let you do it
Once again my Spidey sense comes through.
For those of you who are wondering, it also tells me that the "Adam Ruins Everything" guy is probably just a run-of-the-mill asshole, not a sexual abuser.
It is interesting though, to see how the industry will treat someone who, while being an emotionally abusive asshole to his girlfriend, isn't exactly a criminal as best I can tell.
"What do you do with someone who is a jerk in private but not something that affects his workplace at all?"

The answer is nothing.
nah. the answer is "avoid him"
same principle as not hanging out with people who are assholes to customer service peeps.

sure he sounds like an asshole but what part of any of that was emotional/sexual abuse? it sounds like he was completely upfront with what he wanted out of the relationship so if that wasnt what she wanted why did she stay with him for years? are women really this helpless?
Oh, she was the gender bent HHH in "Wrestling Isn't Wrestling", that's where I know her from.
The thing about emotional abuse is the abuser is usually pretty good at emotional manipulation. Shit can happen to guys too. Because otherwise yeah they probably would walk away. Also love makes you do some crazy ass shit and plenty of people willing to take advantage of that
Missed this but based on her testimony though he was more than just a jerk in private to his gf. Was fairly controlling in public too
But even relationship aside spreading lies to damage someone's reputation and career are kind of criminal and definitely affect the workplace even if not everyone is in the know. Might be a tad hard to prove in court but I certainly want to involve myself with someone who might go after my career if he got mad at me... then again might also be afraid they'd do it for avoiding them lol
I roomed with my best friend from middle school / high school for one year in college and it turns out he is an emotionally manipulative monster to his girlfriends. Not even this level of "don't talk in public and idc if you cry when I have sex with you" like Chris here or physical abuse, but just a more "normal" version where he guilts them into staying with him and sucks up their time and emotional energy. A relationship vampire, if you will. His high school girlfriend was still trying to break him with in sophomore year. I had absolutely no idea. My spidey sense failed me there.
I couldn't take it and broke off the friendship. If someone is willing to be cruel to an intimate partner, then they clearly don't play by normal social rules and I don't trust them. There is a reason that intimate partner violence is so strongly correlated with a host of asocial behaviors.
Women are not the only ones who fall into that type of relationship and making that judgement based on an article that was written is pretty much impossible. We don't know exactly how it went down or anything. Not only that but if she was having some sort of emotional issue and he exploited that to get her to comply then that is shady as fuck. Once you get pulled into a relationship like that the person has a lot of power over you and it is difficult to get away.
yeah i used to think along very similar lines.
then i got married to a psycho. took 10 years to get away. my second wife was worse, but i caught on faster and it only took 3 years of coming home from work wondering if it was going to be dr. jekle or mrs. jackass when i got home. when i left her, i had to leave the state.
it's hard to convey how bizarre the whole experience was. beware, fellas.
I am somewhat bothered by the fact that "I let him sexually assault me" is somehow not only a valid sentence in 2018, but apparently such a smoking gun that it gets bolded.
Not meaning to excuse obvious asshole-ry. Wait why did I click this thread this isn't sports or vidya.
