He's not guilty of anything but being a complete piece of shit but you'd think he shot someone.

Well, for AMC the answer is cancel his show. https://www.thewrap.com/amc-suspends...chloe-dykstra/
In her post she claimed further evidence, and he's denying her claims, so I'm curious if she's going to escalate.

I don't think she'll escalate unless he decides to pull some shit at her. Considering AMC's actions the industry is once again the judge, jury, and executioner.
Do y'all think Chris's shameful but not illegal actions with his ex warrent blackballing him from the industry? Losing his job, etc?
Idk, I feel like this might be one of those cases where you can reeducate a person and send them on their productive, merry way. Now this guy is gonna be a ghost for the rest of his life trying to make his millions stretch for as long as he can. Idk where I draw that line between shame a person until they change their ways, and supporting society blacklisting a guy cause he made a career of raping women.

Yeah, I certainly think he should take a huge hit for this but ending his career is a bit much. This seems much more of a private matter but the court of public opinion has already ruled.
If it's all true I don't feel at all bad for him. That's not the sort of person that deserves sympathy.
I agree that normally I would call this a private matter. If all he did was treat her like garbage then move along it might have even stayed private. Unfortunately it stopped being private when he called people to get her fired, plus enlisted the help of someone else to trash her career and reputation.
Did that actually happen?
Says in the article it did. That part of it wouldn't be at all hard to prove. That's not "he said, she said", that's "Yeah, Hardiwck called and said you were a bitch and I should fire you so I did."
Either way, we will find out.
If he ruined her career out of spite, he deserves what he's getting. If he didn't, his career is toast and she's done that to him.
Problem is. Who would want to work with an asshole like that? Can't force other people to have to work with someone they despise just because we don't think his career should be over.
Chris Hardwick isn't critical infrastructure. Even before this article, he was a self-important douche with a fake smile who attempted to crown himself "Lord of the Nerds" so he could deliver vapid filler analysis of very specific kinds of content.
There are plenty of people who will take his place if he is tossed out into the elements and society will not be poorer for his absence.
The odds of this being totally made up are low and if even 15% is true then I think the cost to society (nothing) is worth the benefit (not having such a douche in the public eye.)
Sucks man. Been there, done that, not ten years (holy shit man how did you survive that crap), but did 2 1/2. Conveying how bizarre those situations are are extremely weird, because while you're in them, they seem normal. When you realize "Huh. If a girl were in my situation, and told me half the shit i've been through, I'd think she's fucking nuts for staying" is a good wake up call.
I only saw how fucked up it was when it was over. Every few weeks I'll think of more dumb shit that went on that I just accepted as normal, and shake my head silently at myself.
Yup, that's pretty much how it is. You look back in hindsight, and it's very much a how the fuck did I ever go along with some of that shit. Reminds me of this from an early JRE podcast with Dave Foley:
Ironically, his ex wife ended up going pretty heavy on the SJW side, and she seemed seriously mentally disturbed.
Yeah. There's no separation between Hardwick the person and the "host character" he plays on these shows - his personality/image is his "talent" and if people don't want to see his smirking face because they know what he's capable of, that's it.

I just heard about this yesterday as it came up in my YouTube feed. I don't really know how to react other than let's see what proof comes out. I have no doubt there's some audio proof of something as they would record the intros to his podcast together.
The thing about asking a Dr that question isn't a shock to me. I was sure I had heard about it somewhere from Chris himself. I believe it was in the context of "when we're in dark situations we have dark humour". Not that that makes it right, but at the moment I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt until I hear something otherwise.
I've listened to a large number of hours of the interview podcast. The ones I enjoyed the most were the ones with just himself and his two buddies. It's not likely accurate, but I felt like I had gotten to know the guy pretty well through those conversations. I haven't listened in a few years, so that feeling isn't what it was before, but I had always been pleased when I saw him have some success with his career.
Nah man, that being your first question to the doctor while you're standing next to her mom is pretty terrible. Like, I know people want to spin it as a funny joke but nah son. That shits trash.
