Star Wars nerds have noticed a change to A New Hope. Just before Greedo is shot by Han, he now utters a new line, “Macluunky”, which is not translated. It is the same thing Sebulba says to young Anakin in Phantom Menace and roughly translates to “This will be the end of you.”
Apparently the change was made by George Lucas himself in 2012 before Star Wars was sold to Disney. The version with the change never received a retail release before the purchase so it’s sat unnoticed for seven years.
It happened when Lucas was converting Star Wars to 4K to process the films for 3D re-releases and that never happened, and since Disney wants to stream all of the films in 4K, that is the version they ran with.
Also the first 20 seasons of the Simpsons episodes are upscaled, stretched, and cropped in 4K so it looks off. Disney+ should really just air them in their regular format like they are already doing with their animated classics placing black bars on the side.
Anyone know if Disney's Doug is available? If so, what about Nickelodeon Doug?
Nickelodeon content will be on Netflix soon since I guess they’re merging.
I have no idea I didn’t know there were two dougs! Or was it Co created by Disney and Nickelodeon?
Doug's 1st Movie is on Disney+. Disney bought Doug from Nickelodeon some years ago so I can see them adding it later. The Netflix/Nickelodeon deal is to make new shows along with new content for older IP's. Viacom owns Nickelodeon (along with Comedy Central and MTV) and they are coming out with their own streaming service which will merge with CBS, so I would expect older Nickelodeon shows to find their home there.
If I remember correctly Nickelodeon had a deal with the production company that produced Doug up until Season 4 and Nickelodeon didn't pick up the 5th season because of production costs. When Disney bought ABC in the late 90's they also bought all rights, merchandising, and trademarks of Doug along with purchasing the production company that made the episodes. The two versions are very different including Roger becoming rich, no Honker burger, no beets, and no Billy West as Doug because he was getting too expensive due to the popularity of Ren and Stimpy
No Beets and Rich Klotz were the downers for me. I loved Doug until he grew up.
See you after class, Doug!
Spoiler: show

The Michael Jackson episode of The Simpsons (Stark Raving Dad) is unavailable thanks to exec's feeling squeamish about HBO's Finding Neverland documentary.
Does anyone know how to do picture in picture for the pc? (I use Chrome.) Other video services (ie. youtube) I just double right click, but that doesn't seem to work for Disney+.
I can't even get it to work with my chromecast.
