Was prompted to change my password when I logged in last night. Only then was it disclosed that the email/password used would cover all Disney accounts including parks and store accounts. Probably should have disclosed that when signing up.

Nice. Now when passwords get hacked they'll have all your info to everything!

Apparently the change was made by George Lucas himself in 2012 before Star Wars was sold to Disney. The version with the change never received a retail release before the purchase so it’s sat unnoticed for seven years.

A New Hope's actor for Greedo confirms that "Maclunkey" was never recorded for the original version.

So apparently my and a bunch of other people's Disney+ accounts were hacked and sold. In their brilliance they allow you to change your email for some reason and don't offer 2 step verification, so my email and password were both changed leaving me fucked. Luckily I was still logged into my account on the TV so I was able to give the hacker's email to customer support and they were able to cancel it and give me a new subscription with my email. Why in the world any account would allow you to just change your email, without sending a confirmation link, and not offer 2 step verification is beyond me.

Yes, they should have two factor, but Disney has said they haven't seen any evidence of hacking.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the company said that it had no reason to suspect a data breach, adding that billions of credentials “leaked from previous breaches at other companies, pre-dating the launch of Disney+, are being sold on the web.”

Tl;dr: stop using the same passwords.

Disney IT is the absolute worst. I'm not surprised at all on this, with all the app issues people have with Disneyworld.

D+ censored and replaced audio from the NatGeo documentary Free Solo. An unedited version is available on Hulu.

Anyone else get rid of all the DVD's now that the service is streaming?

I had at least 100 I'm getting ready to sell back to a local store, it won't be but a few bucks per but I cleared a ton of space by doing so. I'm fairly certain I have another 50 or more as well. I realized I don't even buy hard copies anymore..

Just a note on that Disney has said movies will occasionally disappear from the service so keep that in mind.

Even with streaming stuff, I still buy physical copies- though usually at cheap, used store prices. I have about 650 movies and always looking for more. Partially because I have a general love for movies but also because in my child hood growing up poor comcast got shut off alot so I've got a no-internet paranoia. Not to mention there wont be internet in the apocalypse. Cant watch Aladdin on D+ then, can you?

Oh I know but when we live in an apartment and space is at a premium and the fact I can't remember the last time I booted up a dvd seemed silly to hoard things.

We just don't have the space and honestly I've kept a few like my aladdin collector's edition DVD set , Lion King original DVD , etc but most are just taking space or ones I don't "need". Several from the old disney movie club too.

Oh so follow up to that - if no one uses the disney movie rewards codes inside I'll happily take them off your hands lol.

I got rid of my book collection after the 3rd time moving. Loved my books but they just kept growing and they're a massive pain in the ass to move and the space they took up was ridiculous, so I definitely understand getting rid of them. I'm assuming you dont live near Chicago, otherwise I'd offer to look and buy from you.

As for disney movie rewards, I havent been able to log in to their new site. It let's me get in with the old site username/pass but when it asks to verify my bday it's just completely unresponsive. I should contact their staff before my shit expires.

Sadly no , in Northern California but if there's anything specific you're looking for I can check things before I drop it off and willing to ship it out for a reasonable cost.

If you have the digital codes for the dvd still, i recommend using something like VUDU to upload the digital before you sell it off. My buddy and i use it to combining our collections. Just a thought.

Yeah I've been doing that. If I buy a physical movie, I make sure it has a digital copy as well.

    Togo - December 20th

    Spoiler: show
When a deadly epidemic strikes the town of Nome, Alaska, and the only cure is more than 600 miles away, the town looks to champion dogsled trainer Leonhard Seppala (Willem Dafoe) to help transport an antitoxin serum. Seppala turns to Togo, an unassuming, undersized and aging Siberian husky, to be his lead. His wife (Julianne Nicholson) has championed Togo since his days as a mischievous puppy who could dig himself out of any situation—literally and figuratively—and Seppala, having observed Togo’s loyalty and tenacious spirit, knows Togo offers his only chance of surviving this mission.

Undaunted by the massive storm heading their way or his wife’s urging him not to go, Seppala and Togo set out on the deadliest leg of what becomes a larger relay involving multiple mushers and gale-force winds and a wind chill factor dipping to 70 degrees below zero with little to no visibility. It is a harrowing journey on which Togo saves Seppala from certain death, causing the veteran musher to grasp the depth and intensity of his feelings for his lead dog, even as he risks running him to his death.
