While I'm a fan of Pratt I'm still iffy on his voicing Mario given how little we heard.

Too bad they didn't do this about 20 years or so give or take. Imagine if they got Lou Albano and Danny Wells to voice Mario and Luigi again.

I'll probably end up watching it years later on Streaming like I did the Sonic movie.

But damn, to the surprise of no one, Chris Pratt sounds like Chris Pratt and it doesn't at all match Mario in even the slightest way. Hopefully, this was just an unfortunate bad scene/take and it sounds better overall, it won't ruin the movie for me either way but I'll maintain the casting was bone headed.

Jack Black killing it though.

I’m sceptical about peach and we haven’t seen her yet

Mario doesn’t sound Mario for me

But the animation looks awesome

Mario looks *weird*. Like a fix-it-felix reskin. I'll wait for reviews before going to see it myself but so far I'm optimistic about it

Yesssss I couldn't put my finger on it but damn this is exactly what I was thinking. He's just off...nowhere near the iconic voice we've heard for decades. Jack black is different, but still good.

It's just clear Pratt didn't give off as good an impression as people hoped.

No one thought he would do well. Literally no one. As soon as it was announced everyone already had low expectations. He's a terrible actor. Can the internet bully this studio into recasting Mario like they bullied that studio into redesigning sonic. Because he's a terrible actor and deserves obscurity.

He's super religious and thus that makes him a bad person.

Also since you're quoting milk he's also a straight white male so that's another knock against him.

Don't hate him, he just isn't a great actor imo, let alone a voice actor. He's a great star lord, and he was sometimes funny in that show once upon a time, but so many studios keep trying to make Pratt happen and it just doesn't hit me like I guess he hits for them.
