I still can't believe we needed an origin story to start all this off. Anyway, aside from that the movie was fun and all the kids in the theater loved it. Jack Black kills it as Bowser.
I enjoyed it, was a fun movie with a lot of homages and at the same time makes me wonder if Nintendo would ever implememt some of the scenes in an actual game cause it was platformer porn at times. There's a post credit scene, as seems to be the norm now. They definitely can make a couple of movies if Illumination/Nintendo wanted to since they basically laid out the bones in this one.
The only sour note was the fat nerd that sat a couple of seats down from me explaining random Easter eggs to his gf. Why are people so fucking insufferable when they go to the theater...
Peaches, peaches, peaches, peaches, peaches
Movie was great. A little weird with the human origin story but they needed a reason to stare at Easter eggs for an hour and a half. Kids and gamers will love it

Holiday weekend approaching
It’s about to be bonkers
For those that have seen it, did Chris Pratt do better as Mario's voice than the trailer's showed?
I genuinely think he did well. I didn't care much for Rogan, but I read some interview he did where he said he doesn't do voices, if he's cast to voice something, then he's been cast because they want a character to sound like him.
All the voices were great, Mario was probably the least great voice but it was still fine. Movie is legit good, and I love that almost Smash Bros scene at the end. Seen it twice, think I'm good for awhile lol

Glad to hear it wasn't as bad as people were expecting. Thanks! Hoping to see it this weekend.
Fuck them for not crediting Grant Kirkhope forSpoiler: show
Inexcusable.
They also cut out the "Mushroom Kingdommmm here we comeee" line that generated all the outrage lol
Watched it last night with the kids and girlfriend. Sleeping on it for a night, I dunno why critics are panning this. There's definitely some short comings or under developed characters/plot, but it all works in the end IMO. I hope it does well enough for Nintendo to consider sequels and bringing other IPs to the big screen.
It's doing really fucking well from the numbers I am seeing
We really liked it. Perfect length/right amount of nostalgia. Left me wanting a little more.
I went with my friend, his kid, his kid's 2 friends to see this. It was really good!
I bagged the super mario ? block popcorn tin too. I wasn't planning on getting one, but 1 of the kids when his mum came to collect him, said they didn't need another tin as they got one last night from one of the older siblings so they left it here, allowing me to keep it lol

Movie was great. Easter Eggs were perfect. Cameo by Mario was easily missed if you weren't paying attention.
Chris Pratt did fine.
Might be early to say but I feel like this was probably one of the most faithful game adaptations made, considering the company and what they could have done.
