Are we supposed to care about this 14 yrs later now that 3D is basically dead even though this is the movie that made 3D a big thing lol
They sure have invested a lot of dollars for us to care. From the start of movie one to the end of movie five we’re talking about a 30 year investment of time and money.
If you remember the BS about the first avatar, it said it couldn't be made until the technology was there to make it. The movie ended up being something of a revolutionary type and really paved the way forward.
Maybe 2, 3, 4, and 5 just needed the technology to be there we're going to get something really special.
Or we can get the exact same thing as long as we get an awesome ride out of it at animal Kingdom I don't care.
I never saw Avatar but I know I did see a bunch of cool 3D shit afterward because of Avatar.

Is anyone genuinely interested in this? I mean I'm not hoping for it to do bad, but my interest in a sequel kinda died off long ago. Anyone I've ever talked to about Avatar said they felt the same way as well.
There was no interest for it when it first came out either. It still managed to be the biggest blockbuster ever and hold the title for a decade.
All I ask is that we don't go back to a decade of shitty 3D movies after this one
3d wasn't much of a thing until the first one, I wouldn't discount the gravity of this franchise.
This is one of the only things I have no doubts or expectations for. It set the bar last time and created a new standard, it could do it again in some new way or the same way and it'll be a spectacle.
