I agree with what you’re saying in the sense that it creates plot holes. If they needed to they could’ve just destroyed the Death Star by hyper speeding a ship into it right? Is what you’re suggesting. Maybe the Death Star was too big but other large imperial ships for sure.

Also I’m pretty sure the royal guards red armor is some type of force protective shit. I’m sure it’s explained somewhere why they didn’t utilize the force too much to fight them and had to rely on the sabers only in physical combat.

Were Snoke's royal guards the Knights of Ren? I remember in the flashbacks from Ep 7 (esp. the still frames people caught) that each used a different weapon. Snoke's guards all used different weapons, I think. If it wasn't them, where the fuck are they and why did Episode 8 not even mention them, beyond Luke's single line about "others"?

Why do people keep getting hung up on this? Yeah, when you crash something into something else at high speeds it will cause damage. She took the biggest ship the resistance had, went head on as fast as possible aaaannnndddd.... fucked up the FO ship but didn't cripple it. Most of the people on board survived, the FO still mounted an attack on the resistance base 10 minutes later.

Never mind the fact that this plan only worked because the FO was concentrating on firing on the little ships and ignoring the bigger one for so long.

Building giant battering ram ships doesn't seem super cost effective imo, when you could use one smaller ship full of bombs to take out much larger ships (like in the first scene of the movie).

Swap ROTJ and ROTS and that's where I'm at.

The drop in quality between those two and the bottom 3 is huge tho. And Clones is the only one I'd straight consider an awful movie, Phantom Menance and Last Jedi just fall into the mediocre category.

This needs to stop and die. People think that the Rebels/Alliance had enough ships to kamikaze the whole Empire/First Order. She literally used their last capital ship for that. This isn't a style of attack that can be done at a whim. I think it honestly should have showed a bit less damage than it did just so that people would get this out of their heads.

It cut the emperor's ship in half nearly and took out several other ships. Just at a cost/benefit ratio, sacrificing 1 ship to cripple several of theirs (and "boss ships") is a no brainer. They lost most of their fleet/fighters just attacking them normally anyways.

Hyperspace is also not part of this space, so it shouldn't work that way anyways.

Explain it away all you want, but it's just lazy writing for another "oh that would be cool" result that ignores the physics of the universe they created. And again, it's just a movie/story, but you should be bound by the universe/story you create.

Oh, Skywalkers are basically super powered Jedi jesus's? Cool, then they shouldn't be force-pwned by random no-bodies and big baddies that you've given no history to what so ever.

I thought the film was decent enough. There are some things though like the issues with the first order and the republic, considering the size of the former empire its suprising how the "rebels" are so weak it seems. Same with the first order. Probably would've made more sense if the republic forces and first order were engaged in galaxy wide battles they just seem so empty in a sense that blowing up one system seems to eliminate the entire republic.

As for Snoke I was a little suprised how they offed him so soon. Thought they would've fleshed out his role some more to explain who the hell he was exactly besides "replacement emperor".

The fight between Luke and Kylo I enjoyed though. Kylo is basically "fire everything" and Luke is just there like "Bitch Please"/"I came here to laugh at you". Also liked that Yoda scene too.

I was thinking, but had no idea if it was valid, that if it worked the way we are shown in Ep8, wouldn't going into Hyperspace be extremely dangerous? All it would take is running into something, like a big rock, and you're toast.

I'm pretty sure I remember reading in the (now non canon EU) that hyperspace computers had essentially a "safety" for lack of a better term that wouldn't allow the hyperdrive to be engaged if the calculations did not ensure 100% safety on a jump. If that is the case Holdo would have to manually plot the jump and do so without the computer's assistance which...I suppose is technically possible but if she were to have hit a speck of space dust between her and Snoke's ship it would have torn her to shreds before impact.

I mean, it's not like they were IN hyperspace, right? The ship was doing that super speed thing as they were trying to enter hyperspace. The ships were right on top of eachother, it was trying to enter hyperspace through the FO ship.
