I wasn't berating anyone, I was pointing out how stupid it is to nitpick a movie because of EU stuff or the one dude who came in and said he hated the movie because it defied the laws of Star Wars physics.
When you say "there was no character development" what you really mean to say is "the characters I wanted to see develop weren't developed the way I wanted them to be".
Then for some reason the entire movie was terrible because you had this idea of where you wanted it to go based on your own thoughts and were disappointed it did something different.
Then for some reason Rey is still a Mary Sue as if Luke beating down Vader after only like a year of using the Force is any different.
Rose. Colored. Goggles.
Well this thread just turned into a never ending cycle of stupid.
Might as well just move it to the YouTube Comments Section, the chain of conversation is at about the same level as whenever someone offers a dissenting opinion on there.
But I'm not going to because I'm bored.
You're free to change the direction of the thread at any moment tho.

I really don't care what happens to the thread, I just find it hilarious how everyone here is brow-beating people into submission because they liked the movie and then turn around and TRIGGER because the same happens to them.
I literally have no vested interest in this discussion beyond pointing out how stupid it is to bitch about some of the things being bitched about.
Aaaaand no, I was answering your post with my reasoning.
Is it possible that ordinary people found the movie to be mediocre at best? Not just “die-hard butthurt fans who got their theories nuked?”
Just curious lol.
Ordinary people don't make an uproar on the internet. They move on and go about their lives.
Bad movies come out and their reactions don't get blown up. Only when something has a rabid fanbase does this happen. That doesn't mean someone can't dislike the movie without being a fanboy.
So saying what I didn’t like about a movie on one forum makes me a fan?
I went with my work, most didn’t seem to really like it or hate it. There was one guy who was adamant that that “Holdo maneuver” ruined Star Wars lore though. That was something that didn’t bother me as much.
So apparantly this movie takes place mere hours after the first?
So in a matter of hours after blowing up the star killer base planet suddenly the FO has taken over the galaxy and got the rebels on the run with a handful of ships to their name? We hardly see leia, Luke and Chewie morn Han Solo after he just died. Finn is a legendary hero only a few hours after?
The plot was shit. Now that I think about it LF and TFA are ranked bottom of the barrel. I strongly disagree there was any character development outside Kylo, at least in prequels I wanted to see what happens to obj wan and how anakin turned so it kept my attention, I could care less about episode 9 or what happens to the characters
I just can't keep you Nazis down...
