i'm at 50-odd million right now, i was able to work out a farm team pretty quickly though so i figure i'll probably run through it a few times a day. fight's up for almost a full month so i'm happy to pocket another 20-30M since we no longer have orbfest gil to replenish the stash every quarter.

what's the 32M incoming from 'fest?

Its one of the free gifts from the "present dungeons", the 10 day mythril dungeon that collectively gives 70 mythril, tons of orbs/crystals/notes + 32 million gil.

so for the crystal tower events, up to this point i thought the CM "don't retreat" meant you couldn't run from the fight or retreat from the battle. Granted, they haven't really been difficult anyways, but Shinryu was giving me a bit more difficulty and I've been trying lots of different strategies and aborting the attempt each time I wanted to switch up my party. I usually do it from hardest to easiest in anticipation of possibly having to do this, so it was no big deal until I finally mastered it and then underestimated Ravana's dmg output, and while I brought breaks, I definitely needed protect. So after a few attempts of Ravana doing 6k+ with her combo and no real way to avoid it I retreated, put protect on and doubled up the breaks, and just anticipated running Shin again after I made sure this worked. Easily won this time with her combo doing a very manageable 3k, and when I exit I'm greeted by the successful CM. Cheers

Are you serious. Every timr i fuck up on a fight i literally reset the entire tower until i was able to beat the hardest fight on my first try.

New SBs in JP are basically burst USBs (can stack for effect up to 4x), Yiazmat has 50.5 mil HP, no more mythril from gift dungeons and fest LDs are now 1x G relic advertised, rest any relic including shared and unique. New Heavy Combat that is earth overflow.

Edit: 5* Lightning magicite is Midgardsormr (FF8) and is anti magic and Behemoth (FF13) is anti physical. All 5* magicites are rewards, no more RNG, keystones are abolished, orbs/crystals are replaced with arcana for speedclears, and 5* magicite can overflow and have 2 inheritance slots.

Edit3: The "tutorial" image for bUSBs shows ATK being changed to a lv. 0 ability that increases during battle under "certain conditions".

Speculation:

Since the ability color is the same colors as the SB bar, i'm guessing the "certain conditions" is your SB lvl. I.e. ability becomes lvl 3 if sitting on full SB bar. If this ends up happening, I hope they make that lvl. 3 ability uber powerful to justify sitting on a full SB.

I think that's basically it yeah, thunder magicite is Quetzalcoatl though for magic. They also have a mechanic call "Crazy Mode" where they start dealing more damage and you need to deal Overflow damage in order to stop them... meaning you need an OSB for each element and type.

Banner 1 and 5 are pretty strong IMHO. 2 got shafted a moderate degree without Snow's CSB, and Banner 3 kinda got a bump with TG Cid but a demotion with OK BSB.

I was angling for B1 obviously, but I may put most of my pulls on B5. Only 1 dupe - Terra LMR.

Fest banners are out on the reddit now.
I'm seriously conflicted since I have a bunch of dupes that racked up via 100gem and the parade draws.
Banner one has the most shinies i want(any) but I have 3 dupes. People say God wall is for Rwing but i've had plenty of situations where having a native wall would have been a godsend so that i could RW cloud usb safely enough for cheesing instead.

Banner two only has a dupe because I got squall lmr a few days ago.

Banner three has three dupes and two of them are grand prizes so I somewhat want to back off even if earth is theoretically a weak element for me. (Probably Not so much in practice since I can just dive machina and i've made a second copy of tremoring quadstrike now) If that Orlandeau is secretly the USB instead of OSB it just skyrocketed in usefulness.
In retrospect this might be one of the better banners for me.

Banner 4. I have Zack chain and cloud USB already. Zack might have something to do after he puts a chain up? I wouldn't mind buffing the characters on there but getting the dupes would really sting.

Banner 5 the Waifu banner. Rng has repeatedly given me Tidus gear so this banner has the most dupes but i really want my fully dived terra to have a SB worth a damn and to dive yuffie after the fest.

Banner two is getting a pull for sure. I'm not sure what my second draw is going to be.

That's why they are adding the earth heavy combat ability that deals 1x Overflow DMG, so you can throw that on someone like Cinque and not need an earth OSB like Rydia/Gladiolus.

Also was gonna go all in for wind since I have 0 dupes, but them baiting earth banner with T.G. Cid USB and OK BSB (still don't have Haste + ATK/MAG for hybrid fights....) is gonna make me split pulls between.

Issue with that is that Heavy Combat is physical so it will only work for the magic immune thunder magicite boss. You still need a source of magical Overflow damage for the other one (and I bet they're gonna lock out non-elemental ones like OK just to screw us over). Vayne's OSB is probably the best relic in the game right now lol (hybrid character so can be used as physical or magical depending on build, holy/dark elemental) alongside Bartz and Sora OSB/AOSB.

Banner 1 is stacked with utility, surely pulling there once. My other pull is on banner 5 if I can scrap enough mythril for it.

There goes all hope for me to get some XII synergy but it's giving me some hope that I can squeak in a 3rd anniversary pull with luck and then get the lucky draws in.

Easily the safest bets.
Bartz is a main character so he always gets new stuff and sora is Bartz tier if you got a decent amount of his relics.
I'd wait until you have usb for Bartz (or got so many misc relics that you can dive him anyway) or anything higher than bsb for Sora.

Bartz has his BSB and OSB so far.

Is there a text list of the items in those banners?
I'm having trouble tracking what I already have in those lists.

I almost wanna bet that there will be some new earth tech in the Fest banners and one of these new Brave USBs commands will be a magical overflow type.
