If anyone's having trouble with Edea, if you've beaten Tiamat, using Silver Dragon as the magicite helps. Grants hastega.

Otherwise, Full Break+Magic Breakdown+30% Hyperbreak made her hit like a wet noodle.

I have no magicite, so~

My problem has mainly been her sleeps land at the worst fucking times and her Astral Punch or whatever still hitting for like 6k+ with fb/mb. The periodic dispels don't help.

New bUSBs are the answer for crazy mode for 5* magicite, cmd is 1x overflow whose modifier increases based on their ability school uses during it.

New Glints are element DMG+ 20% + quickcast 2, except Celes who is crit = 100 for 2 turns...

I guess the glints aren't a DPS loss but seems pretty marginal. Except celes who is absurd and might actually be decent with Knight then (as long as not capping). Wonder if that makes her LM2 actually useful.

Red XIII is earth mage chain.... Rinoa bUSB is earth.... Shantotto/Celes have AOSBs and Glints, OK has USB3 that is magic Bartz and has a 5 hit chase.

Faris gets thief chase USB3, Prompto gets Lightning chain, Kain and Terra get bUSBs.

Maria gets a AOSB and Glint, Serah gets Ice Chain. Rydia has USB2.

Garland gets AOSB and Glint, Firion gets holy/fire/ice crit = 75% bUSB and is now SAM focused, lmr2 is w-cast SAM and bUSB is SAM focused.

Also Cloud is apparently getting a new OSB with Tactics sinergy and it's fire/ice/thunder damage.

Edit: Actually the most shocking part of this is me realizing that Red can be dived to Black 5* (and 6*) access lol. I had no clue! His new Dualcast LMR makes a bit more sense now lol.

Well they don't hurt for sure. They're totally not required though, you can beat any content without magicites.

On top of that, his hairpins have a decent amount of MAG on them. However, he can't equip rods or staves. Also Red was the only BLM (4*) in VII until Vincent or Reno got released.

Also the fest report states that Rinoa is getting a new ice USB2 and a Glint and a ice/earth AOSB in the 8 event that runs alongside fest and they confirmed Kain is getting AOSB in the next 4 event in April.

Also, sounds like the 11 draw selection groups are the same as JP.

Yay for stuff not being tampered with, not yay for Celes being stuck with BSB while Lightning gets BSB2. Leaves me torn between XII and XIV - having neither of Potato or Balthier's offerings but both SSB's on the selection, and just going for a +element weapon in dark or wind.

I think the reddit folks are underestimating the power of buffing witch skills by 50% in JP...

They're comparing them to chainspells too much.

Witch skills aren't about doing damage, theyre there to add to chain counts. Though yes they were underpowered compared to the skills the Witch characters could use. These merely put them on par IMHO with chainspells as an option for Witch users instead of the crutch.

The thing is that fastcast is really easy to get for mages as long as they can bring an out of realm character, and a lot of sbs have it nowadays as well. With increased chain cap they look great to me.

Yeah he's super limited in the gear department, could surely use a buff there given this development.
