I did until I realized I was laughing at the same jokes time and again. A funny joke is a funny joke, and you do have a hit once in awhile, but you're not being very creative this year and most of them have devolved into both sides equivalency nonsense. You don't actually care about the topics at hand; you're just held up on this belief that both sides are terrible as if one isn't taking the lions share of terribleness. People change their mind all the time around here, especially when someone like Gred or AG drop some truth bombs, but you never acknowledge that because then the game would be over and your shit posting would be revealed for what it is.

He did that one joke with a blackmail folder for some people including headspace I think. Headspace was like what's that, and day posted a picture of a paper that said loser or something.

Idr specifics, but I remember we all had a hearty laugh at that. A good joke once in awhile is always great, but let's not play like the majority of his responses aren't "both sides" or an attempt at a nuanced discussion that he runs from the second someone points out the flaws in his logic.

We have outright addressed the fact that the members here mostly slant left. There will always be an overwhelming majority criticizing the GOP and Trump because of that and because even by conservative standards modern Republican politics are awful. The two posters on the right end of the spectrum that people give the most credit to will acknowledge the second point while bringing up legitimate discussion points.

We had a discussion where a lot of posters on the left agreed with Byr's point that the GOP is probably on the correct side of the corporate tax rate debate, it just gets obscured by how terrible the rest of their economics is.

Day playing devil's advocate doesn't actually contribute to the discussion.

Yes echo chambers are bad. But sometimes a consensus exists for a reason. Like a consensus that it's bullshit for Trump defenders to manufacture a secret memo that can then be "forced" into the public eye to exonerate Trump's campaign.
