That lawsuit is in the same line as a lawsuit they brought against Nixon and the Watergate issue. They won that lawsuit and plenty of money with it.

and for fun food, Bernie Sanders and Ted Cruz were found to be the most partisan members of the Senate.

and if you dig into the WaPo graphic and Lugar's rankings you can see the fabled Republican unity isn't really backed up by data. the defection/impurity/go fuck yaself thumbs up rates aren't hugely disproportionate by better. indeed if anything Republicans seem slightly more likely to buck orthodoxy.
Well fuck. Whats the point of even trying to have a conversation with you if you're gonna bring up crazy right wingers like bernie sanders.

Manchin is a garbage Dem, and the sooner the party stops needing his vote to make progress, the better.

and+ if you dig into the WaPo/Lugar data you can see the fabled Republican unity in governance isn't really backed up by hard evidence (that probably should have become apparent after the healthcare debacle). the defection/impurity/go-fuck-yaself-thumbs-up rates aren't hugely disproportionate by party, indeed if anything Republicans appear slightly more likely than Democrats to buck the party line in recent years.

Now do one when Obama was president Fiye

I mean, Hillary Clinton, Satan-Incarnate, only had TWO no votes when she was confirmed for Secretary of State.

Archibald beat me to it, but we're talking past each other a bit Fiye. i pointed at how often Congresspeoples work with their opposite party colleagues to draft/sponsor/pass legislation and how often they vote against their own party's majority as evidence of bipartisanship, and you responded with how often they vote for the sitting president's 'position'. i think the former of much more significance, and to make the latter have meaning one would need to contrast it with how they voted under a Democratic president.

6-term GOP congressman from Colorado just got kicked out of the Republican primary for his 7th term, because he didn't get enough legal signatures to get on the ballot and now it's too late.

    https://www.denverpost.com/2018/04/2...f-2018-ballot/

It's an R+14 district so virtually impossible for Dems to win...unless Lamborn decides to try a write-in campaign or something and splits votes with whoever wins the R Primary?

Mitt Romney also has to compete in a primary in Utah. Still expected to win, but he could have avoided the primary altogether had the Utah GOP confirmed his nomination. They refused to do so because some of them were upset that he got on the ballot by obtaining the necessary 25,000 signatures from voters instead of coming to the party and asking for it.

I want to add this is by no means an indication of the popularity of Mitt Romney. The last guy didn't get the 60% of votes necessary and won his primary by 30 points.

More an indication of pettiness of the Utah GOP than anything.

Guy is literally coming in from another state to take up a seat. I'd be pretty petty.

Isn't he really big in the Mormon Church though? Being Mormon in Utah is like being part of the coal industry in West Virginia.

And keeping him in WV is completely unrelated to the party becoming progressively more left in safe areas (like CA)

Lesko +9. Terrible press coverage and lack of money spent by the dems makes this a land slide.

Lesko +9 wouldn't be considered a landslide when you look at the demographics of that county coupled with Tipirneni's platform. After reading the D candidates platform I am amazed that it is as close as it is. That area is full of really old white people.

Eh, it's not a land slide when you consider it's history. But +9 is +9 and that's quite a margin of victory. I wouldn't be happy losing to +9 even if I knew I was up against +25. But that's me, and this is zero sum lol.

Lesko +5 just based on the Dem's name and the fact that it's AZ.
