Announcing a new character and making it so that the only way you can play him is with 100k fight money seems dumb.

People who haven't been keeping up with the game won't have that kind of currency, and you don't even offer some kind of season pass option with real money?

I was just looking at some SFV stuff and can you really not buy dlc characters ala carte you have to buy the season passes or use in game currency?

Yup.

Seems really fucking stupid. When I saw new content was gonna drop figured fuck it and reinstall the game. Now that the update is live I have no option to play Kage because I don't have the FM and they won't even let me give them cash for a season pass.

And thus I am instantly discouraged from the new content.

You can. I remember grabbing Sagat and G when they were released but none of the other season 3.

At least on Steam it's just the full season passes and costume packs, no ala carte purchases

Good scheme, get the hype beasts to pay a bunch of FM and then not get a discount and have to buy Kage again with the season pass.

It's a bug/hasn't been activated yet for whatever reason but you are going to be able to use money to get the character.

Kage is available for MSRP $5.99/€5.99/£4.99 or 100,000 Fight Money on December 16 along with battle balance changes and new moves for certain characters!
