guys it was beautifully shot and the performances were mostly ok but i can’t get over how absolutely terrible the fake blood was

there was almost nothing interesting at all about the plot

i do not think i cared one bit about any of the characters at all

what am i missing

omg i finally met someone who has my level of enthusiasm for sinners

just know that so far you are the only other person i've met who wasn't bananas over it. i don't know what this says about us.

Sinners was better than One Battle After Another, Frankenstein, F1 and Bugonia based on the nominated films I have seen.

At least Wicked: For Good got shut out of any nominations.

F1 is a C+ caliber movie, yet is somehow among the best picture nominees.

Sinners got praise because nothing else good was out at the time AND there wasn't anything to look forward to for the remainder of the year.

Then came the Oscar bait like Hamnet, Marty Supreme, and a lesser extent Frankenstein at the end of the year.

Sinners needs a theater to ascend to greatness. But it is great in a theater.

Bugonia was my favorite movie of the year. Can flip a coin for Sinners and KPDH for 2 and 3 for me.

It was a visual spectacle but the plot was incredibly cookie cutter and the degree to which it got its source material wrong was egregious.
